Would you give Nets Cousins for Lopez?
I love Cousins' game. I was wondering if you guys would be a Lopez for Cousins swap. I just don't think Lopez can thrive with Deron Williams. I think Cousins' game is more suited. And it's no secret I loved Cousins coming into the draft over Favors. So what do u guys say?

Lopez looks much more human than he once did.
He's a player that I'd like to see the Kings trade for though.
However, I don't see a scenario where I'd be comfortable giving Cousins for him that would seem reasonable to NJ.

Re: Would you give Nets Cousins for Lopez?
Lopez cannot rebound the basketball, so no way. 5.8 boards per game on the season? That's horrendous for a center. His offense is good and he looks like he has the potential to average 22-24 ppg next year. But Kim Kardashian's 6'9'' boyfriend leads the Nets in rebounding playing 10 fewer minutes per game. Cousins is far superior at rebounding and passing. And Cousins' offense will catch up and maybe even surpass Lopez's.

I've thought about this before and would not mind it. Cousins clearly has more talent, but loads of baggage. To me, Cousins seems like the type of player that would bolt, the first chance he gets out of Sacramento (assuming the kings stay in Sac). So yes, I would trade Cousins for Lopez and a first. As far as the rebounding is concerned, it has just been this year where his averages are low, the last two years he's been decent.

No thanks, Cousins can do all that Lopez can do and more. Plus Lopez just doesn't seem to have "it"

Absolutely. He averaged a very respectable 8 a game his previous 2 years in the league. I don't know why his average is so low this year (not being a Net fan) but I'm not sure if I should be worried yet.
Seriously though you're high if you think you're getting a first.

Not even 8 is respectable when you're 7 feet tall and now he's dropped below 6. You need to be worried.

DeMarcus only has eight.

In 27 minutes, compared to the 8 that Lopez did in 10 more minutes last season, and the less than 6 rebounds he does this season in 7 more minutes!

Lopes is a very good player, but Cousins is something special. Even though he's been giving us the occasional headache, you don't give up on a once-in-a-generation talent like Cousins in less than a season. Lopez will give you playoffs, Cousins will give you championships.

Re: Would you give Nets Cousins for Lopez?
nope, no way I look to trade cousins for someone like lopez. Lopez is great and all but I think Cousins ceiling is way higher. It just doesn't really make any sense for the kings.

Lopez was a decent rebounder until Humphries joined the Nets is a good defender as well, i would do it Cousins might be the worst post defender in the Nba

Well, in his rookie season Brook had 8 in 30 a game, but your point is well taken.
I like Cousins a lot. I don't want to give anyone the impression I don't, but if a team offers to trade you someone who right now is better on the court (imo) and whose the same age, and whose ceiling is approximately as high (you could argue this point but ceilings are difficult to determine anyway), who has fewer red flags, and doesn't get into fist fights with his teammates, doesn't fight constantly with his coach and coaching staff, I think you take it.

Re: Would you give Nets Cousins for Lopez?
Brook Lopez + Morrow and I'll think about it.
Brook Lopez:
Pros:
Good offensive game
Nice shooting touch
Size and position is rare
Good pick and roll player
Good character and sane
Decent shot blocker
Cons:
Mechanical
Predictable post moves
Turnover prone
Not a great passer
DeMarcus Cousins
Pros:
Great skill set - including shooting range and post moves
Killer instinct - always wanting to win
Size and position is rare
Great passer
Higher possible talent ceiling
Cons:
CRAZY and tons of baggage
Lacks elite athleticism
How about Tyreke for Deron Williams straight up? Haha.

How is anyone even considering this?

Re: Would you give Nets Cousins for Lopez?
No way.
I like Lopez in general but I much rather have Cousins. I gamble on Cousins potential to be the best big behind Howard in the future. Who knows, Cousins may give Howard a run for his money for the #1 spot. Cousins at his peak will probably give you 24/13/4 + excellent passing + intangibles. Like Paul Pierce said, he is a baby Chris Webber.

A huge no from me.
You don't settle for a burger when you got a steak waiting on the table.. even if the steak's kinda raw and needs a little bit more cooking - you agree to wait and enjoy a real goddamn meal!

I wouldn't trade Cousins for Deron Williams, let alone Brook "Don't call me Spencer" Lopez
