CELTICS / KINGS TRADE

Rondo
Bradley
J O'Neal
#25 - 2011 Draft
for
Thompson
Casppi
Udrih
#7 - 2011 Draft
Future 1st
I posted this on the trade board and was curious as to what Kings fans would think. I think it's a fair deal, but I also think it depends on how much value you put into the #7 pick.
If Sacramento gave Rondo free reign to just let it all hang out I think he would be an amazing player on a young, athletic, up&coming team.
Be kind. I don't post many trades, but I thought this was intriguing at the least.
Thanks

Rondo and Evans would be the worst shooting backcourt in the NBA.
So no.

Agree it is fair value but Rondo and Evans is a pretty terrible fit.
Rondo is an even worse shooter than Evans which is not what we need.
Maybe you could make this a three way where we send Rondo to a 3rd team for a different young all star that is a decent fit?

A good point. Not sure you'd be setting up many half-court sets, but I understand what your saying.
How about Devin Harris?

kings say yes to this deal! why would a lottery team decline having a star pg in exchange of bench players, 7th pick in a weak draft and a future pick?
i say go for it, and if this team still sucks then trade either rondo or evans which will have a much greater value than the thompson casspi udirh and picks combination...

This isn't the T-Wolves, where you pile up a bunch of players on a team, regardless of position or fit.

not a single one on that team has rondo type value or even his type of caliber.... when your offered a star player for a bunch of scrubs you have to think about it and worry about the fit later... and if in the long run it still does not work then we still have a player with great value as a trade asset than a bunch of bench players were we cant get anything with that much value....

Are you kidding me?
You take this deal and run. F*** Tyreke. You take Rondo and move Tyreke.
Rondo/Thornton/(Player from Tyreke Trade)/(FA)/Cousins

Wrong. If it doesn't work out, then we're stuck with a bunch of players with negative value, since teams will know that we want to trade him (see Kevin Martin).

rajon rondo playing with one hand has way way way more value than the great kevin martin....so rondo with negative value still has more value than jt casspi udrih and picks combined...
plus if teams know we are trading at least reke or rondo, teams would actually be the ones calling us and offering up pieces for either of those two.... i doubt teams would call us asking for beno udrih....

I personally would like to have rondo on this team. and that trade proposal was pretty fair.

It's hard to turn down a deal for Rondo, especially without giving up Evans or Cousins. The point that he and Evans are terrible shooters is well-taken. But I think playing Evans at 3 and Thornton at 2 might work. Then if we got a three-point shooting 4, move Cousins to 5, that's a balanced-enough lineup. Yeah, sure, I'd do this trade.

Evans at SF? A 3 point shooting PF? ....What? Dirk isn't coming to Sacramento anytime soon.

I'd rather have Tyreke than Rondo.

JT and Casspi are leaving in this trade.
All I have to say is how can you NOT do this trade? I don't see why Boston does this anyway. This makes NO sense for them.

Umm, I think it's the start of a blow-up really, without doing it ALL the way yet. That's the only thing I can think of.
If you do this:
You GOT, GOT to go sign someone like Troy Murphy to help fill out and fit the frontcourt to help spread the floor.
C: Cousins
PG: Murphy
SF: Evans
SG: Thornton
PG: Rondo

I agree you need a frontcourt shooter to spread the floor. Maybe deal J Oneal for Harrington. Reasonable contract. Denver may be looking to dump him.
As is, you have to take the deal. Rondo is the absolute best player in this deal and you still get Bradley and a late first.
