If it cost this team any of Knight, Leonard, or Walker, BAD, BAD, BAD deal. If not, not too terrible.

I always liked John Salmons, and I still have his jersey. I think acquiring him may mean that either Casspi or Green may be out the door. So I'll be anticipating another deal if this is finalized.

From a value viewpoint it's not bad at all. This is a weak draft I don't think #7 is going to be any better than #10, we get rid of Beno's contract and bring back a guy that has always been a consistent player. However something else has got to be going on here, now we have no point guards and Garcia, Casspi, Greene, and Salmons on the wing.

Not a big fan of bringing back Salmons. Overpaid, wrong side of 30, and we didn't get good enough value in the trade.

I will say that if he could just settle into a more limited role, he wouldn't be that bad a fit. He needs to devote most of his energy to his defense, which I hope is still as good as it was when he left, and just knock down set-shots from outside.

The problem with him during his last go-around was that he had a habit of becoming a black hole on offense where he stopped the ball movement once he got it and then dribbled down the shot clock before hoisting up a bad shot or making an ill-advised drive. Considering our team already has an issue with ball-movement, it makes me nervous. Of course the last go-around the team was vastly less talented as well, and he had to shoulder a bigger role. So if he can somehow just become a better role-player, he might not be that bad a fit.

From what little I saw and have read from Bucks fans though, it doesn't sound like that was the case for him on the Bucks outside of that first stretch after they acquired him, and that was on a better (current) team that ours. I wonder what makes Petrie/Westfall think he will work here in Sac?

The age isn't a problem, the team needs veterans, that's the age they are.

I remember Salmons hitting the game winner one night and going nuts on the court. First and only time I ever seen John show real emotion on the court (besides his "i didnt foul him" pout face)

The only players that Salmons played with are JT and Garcia, Dally also, if he stays.

* I forgot Greene

Who was the coach of this team then? It had to be Theus, right? Maybe he got ejected, because I don't see him...

Yeah, Theus would have been the coach then.

Come to think of it, I do remember Salmons hitting a few big shots for us. I think he has that in him, so that's at least nice.
