'Kay. So I'm back for now.

KIE and I have decided that, since our chances of finishing this by Christmas are probably really slim, what we're going to try to do is stop the draft after 8 rounds, Then we would fill out the rest of the rosters through FA. So it would basically be kind of a mad dash once I finalize the rosters (and I'd have a set time that I'd do that, and so on). I'm not totally sure if Yahoo will let me do this, but I don't think it can hurt to try.

Just letting you guys know that unless there is a major uproar against this, that's what we'll do as soon as we get through the last few picks of this round.

I think, that the best way that we can finish, if yahoo doesn't let u, it that everyone gives their remaining top 15 picks.... and they dont post them, they send them to u... and this is where you would have to be fair... and basically follow your list as well as any other persons list... and do it based on draft order, so u basically auto-fill for everyone. and then keep on posting the results.

I say we give everyone till midnight tonight (PST time) to send u their list for the remaining 3 rounds.

Yeah, actually that might even be a better idea. I guess the only downside (and the downside with big lists in general) is that a guy could end up potentially getting 3 players at the same position, or 3 really similar players. But I guess that kind of stuff can be fixed with trades.

And if we were to do that, I'd probably push the deadline back further. Not like it will be hard for me to finish things up at that point.

We still have a tiny bit of time to decide on one of those options, so what do you guys think?

And here's the email I just sent out in case some of you aren't getting it.

Hey guys.

So it has become clear that we're not going to finish this draft on time by conventional means. So here's the plan. I need each of you guys to send me (either via email here or via PM) lists to cover the rest of your draft picks. So you can make these lists as long as you want, but chances are they'll be pretty similar, so I'd recommend sending me long lists--like, probably around 20 players.

Then I'll enter the players in accordingly with draft order and we'll good to go by the season opener.

I'd prefer to have the lists before tomorrow, but I don't really need them until later tomorrow. But the sooner the better.

I'll also make this as an announcement in the thread, and maybe PM it to people.

Just getting caught up on the thread...this idea works for me. Doing the math on this, the longest your list would need to be would be 36 players. That would guarantee you have everything covered. If you don't want to sort that many players...and I don't blame you if you don't...the rule needs to be that your default pick is the best available player based on Yahoo's list if none of your guys are available. Just let pillwenny know if you want him to go off the list sorted by "O-Rank" or "Rank".
