Sooo after reading this it I'm not too confident Sam will be back on the Kings, bummer.

I'm not really reading anything into that yet except proof of what o have said over and over that it will take upwards of 8.5 million per to lock up Sammy and we need to be sure that it is really worth it.

Based from the reviews I'm reading about Sammy is, he is more as a Rim protector than an all around defender. So comparing to Chandler that would cost the Kings 11 to 13MIL per year I'd rather have Chandler than Sammy if possible.

If Tyson can do what he did with the Mavs and bring a more defensive mentality, that would be better. Even with Sammy D the Kings were near last in points allowed in the paint. IDK if that was because Cousins/Dally or the wings were getting beat.

I'd much rather get Chandler here rather than keeping Dally, even if he costs a few thousand more a year

As long as we get one or the other, I'm fine. If we come up with neither then we're in trouble.

I thought that going into last year, but Sam showed himself to be an all around defender last year. He was very good in man-to-man.

I believe Sammy is gone either way weather he signs on his own with another team or via sign & trade . He has already been linked to Houston , Miami , New York & more .
I think he will be in a sign & trade myself if not he will likely sign with Houston outright .

While sources say the Kings want to keep [Samuel] Dalembert, there is a significant gap to bridge on the economics and Sacramento appears willing to lose Dalembert should the financial number remain in the territory of $10 million per year.

Bye bye Dalembert? Or it's the classic "meet me half way" type of deal. Dalembert wants $10 million, the Kings want him for $7 million, both settled for $8.5 ish million? Maybe?

@mr_jasonjones
Kings have renounced their rights to Samuel Dalembert. He can only get 4 yr deal from kings now.
I think he is gone :|
Chuck Hayes agent said he expected Hayes to start as well............

Yeah, I thought signing Hayes would put the nail in the coffin of any chances of signing Dally.

He's gone. They don't have the money to resign him now & never planned on resigning him anyway. The Maloofs will not spend more than minimum they have to.

I figured he's be renounced, Kings could still re-sign him in theory but eliminates sign and trade option. I told you guys, Petrie was never going to re-sign the dude. Thornton was a given they way he and the Maloofs spoke about him, Daly not so much.

I'm totally down with Hayes starting, Princeton returns!!!! Say hello to our little friend Blake, Amare, KG, and Dirk!!! hahaha. Love it. Two tough scrappy players in Thornton and Hayes around Evans and Cuz. This team is going to surprise some mo fo's!

Dalembert to Hayes is a negative for the Kings. I'm still holding on to the slim hopes that he'll be retained.

Let Daly walk, at any price, the remaining space is more valuable than a 6th big, they need to move at least one as it is. Wait until the team plays, then and only then, make your next move.

I say we address the point guard need. We have plenty of bigs that we can rotate that should match and even exceed Berts production.

Sign & trade Dalambert for Chris Paul!

I'm sorry, but Dirk will eat this guy alive. Uncontested jumper every time...
Donte Green is probably our best defense against a guy like Dirk, which probably isn't saying much.

Dirk was eating everyone alive last year. I bet Hayes does well against Dirk though. I never understood why they didn't put Lebron on Dirk in the playoffs. He may give up height but can muscle, disrupt and use his quick feet to contest a lot of shots. I bet Hayes does the same. Not stop but at least not let him be comfortable. I like this team thus far.
