Cousins demanded a trade(Other fans: Stop proposing trades)

Post#1 » by ADoaN17 » Sun Jan 1, 2012 11:27 pm

@sam_amick
Shocking Kings statement released regarding DeMarcus Cousins, who was sent home from the team's home game against New Orleans tonight.

Kings coach Paul Westphal says Cousins demanded to be traded: "When a player continually, aggressively, lets it be known that he is...

Westphal: "...unwilling/unable to embrace traveling in the same direction as his team, it cannot be ignored indefinitely."

SACRAMENTO, CALIF., Jan. 1, 2012 -- “Whenever a new season begins, in any sport, there is great hope that everything will progress in only a steady, upward direction. As we all know, it seldom happens like that in this life!

As coaches, we can only ask that our players do everything they can to improve themselves as individuals and teammates. If they do this with all their hearts, we live with the results.

Everything that happens on a team does not become known to the public. This is how it should be. However, when a player continually, aggressively, lets it be known that he is unwilling/unable to embrace traveling in the same direction as his team, it cannot be ignored indefinitely.

DeMarcus Cousins has demanded to be traded. In the best interest of our team as we go forward, he has been directed by me, with the support of management, to stay home from the New Orleans game tonight.”

All I can say is wow over and over again. He is obviously frustrated with coach Westphal and his offense. When asked about coache's offense, DMC replied, "What offense?" Cousins replied when asked about the Kings' most obvious weakness. "I really don't want to say anything."

If he really did demand a trade, we won't be getting more than a late first round for him now. He's value is going to be shot.

Man, we really didn't need this this year. I don't see how we can afford to start over right now.

If this played out as it was originally reported, then trying to pass the buck away from Cousins yet again is ridiculous.

A very good player can thrive in any offense. Cousins is a big man that should be shooting 55%+ and instead he shot 43% all of last year. Was that the coach's fault also? He's struggling and so now he's trying to blame someone else for his struggles. Cousins needs to be on a team with strong veterans that can whip his ass. The Celtics, the Heat, etc. would be good locations. The Rockets might also work as McHale could demand respect.

Well I guess it's time for me to join everybody else and panic.

Whether Cousins demanded a trade or not, that's unprofessional of Westphal to call him out like that and puts the team in a real bad situation if we do need to trade him, since ain't nobody going to offer anything of value now.

It's time for me to say it: Westphal needs to go (and maybe Cousins).

The concerning thing is that this is a press release. If this is what happened, then he had the support of the front office.

This is horrific timing. The city can't see the team like this.

What a horrific mess. Why is the coach airing out dirty laundry in press releases? Why isn't the front office screening Westphal's press release? Why are we letting this retread of a coach determine what happens with our future franchise players? Just an awful garbage-like stink coming from the top of the organization

Well I hate to be this guy, but there may be something to the conspiracy theory of trying to sabotage the arena deal to allow a move to Anaheim. It seems crazy, but I can't understand why else they would do this.

Paul feels the pressure from the dressing room and starts showing his true colors.

Hope Tyreke Demarcus and the other guys take a harsh stand and force that (Please Use More Appropriate Word) out of our franchise.

Even if Demarcus does leave and did request a trade - this moron has to go.

If Demarcus said something in the likes of "Me or Paul", I wouldn't blaim him one tiny bit! we all see our teams and all see which direction we're headed with this clown.
