I'm not saying he's available however he doesn't like his role as a backup PG. I'd love to get him in a trade, and see how he runs the Kings as a TRUE PG. He's 35 - so I'm not sure how much gas he has left in that tank of his.

Would anyone trade JT for 'Dre with how thin our front court is?

The only people I wouldn't want to trade for "Dre is Evans, Thomas, DMC, JJ, MT23, Jimmer. However, they are already deep with guards, and really only need big men. Would prob have to include a third team to get a deal done.

Not for Thompson. He is a young, hardworking big that knows his role. We could use a 30 year old Miller, but not too sure what a 35 year old could bring. Best case, he mentors our guards for a year or 2 then is done.

NO.

But I could see sending Whiteside, a 2 nd rounder and either just absorbing back Dre's salary or kicking in something of value like Garcia or Donte that would help Denver in the frontcourt (although Donte is starting to look like I have always envisioned him in Keith Smart's lineup/rotation).

Realistically it is what I see as us missing and it moves MT to super sixth man which I believe is the ideal role for him right now.

I'd trade JJ before JT easily.

Honestly, I'd trade Thomas too. I mean he looked very nice last night, but we have to give something here guys.


For the people inevitably saying he's a bad fit because of the way he plays, he fit just fine with Brandon Roy who, while a better shooter than Tyreke, is still basically the same type of ball dominant guard.

I clearly understand that . I was only stating what I would trade for me to add J.T. OR J.J. in a deal I would require 1of 3 things .

1. The deal I origionally stated
2. deal either salmons or cisco with either j.j. or j.t. for miller & either a future 1st round pick or at least a player in return with the same type of value as 1 of the 2 bigs i mentioned
3. would be as you mentioned we get miller another likely veteran team gets cisco or salmons & denver gets a player from the 3rd team .

Miller is solid I am happy with how I.Thomas is playing in the long run I feel he will be more in our future plans than Miller as Miller has been in the leauge for around 11-12 years he only has so many years left & their would be no real guarantee he would be a King next year as he is a free agent after this year so my point to not giving Hickson or J.T. straight up is not a good thing knowing miller easily could & likely would walk after this year . We owe a future 1st for Hickson if we turn around and trade him it better be for a 1st round pick in the deal or another young talent , same as far a J.T. for that matter .

Miller is a terrible fit next to Tyreke when you tack on the fact that he would only make the spacing problems worse. Miller is a pretty ball dominant guard who has more than once complained about role and minutes. Next!

I seem to remember some issues with him and Roy and in particular some rumblings about that situation from Miller himself, it's why he didn't stick there.

What Miller brings to the Kings offensive system:

- An elite distributor (or at least, having a guy know what are his best options out there i.e. passing to the 6'11 270 CENTER under the post CONSISTENTLY).
- More alley oops (Miller lead the league in alley oops thrown multiple of times).
- Veteran leadership
- Defensive-minded
- Decent mid-range shot
- Has post game

Most likely, we will see this too:
- No more Reke or Thornton bringing the ball to halfcourt with their notorious half-jog.
- Bringing MT23 off the bench playing the "Manu/Harden" role.

I don't mind bringing in Miller but if there are other players like Augustin that's available, I rather opt to those options instead.

I've always liked Miller as a player (ever since Utah with KVH and Michael Doleac-lol), and it's worth a shot...as long as we don't throw away our future for a rental. If anyone wanted to take Salmons off our hands, I'd pull the trigger right away. I'd trade Salmons away for a cheeseburger to get rid of that terrible contract.

Dont be suprised if the Kings are involved in trade talk with the Hawks as they are looking to fill the void of Horford being out . You guys may us shipping out J.T. with Cisco or Salmons in a deal . Basically a deal involving J.T.

Something like J.T with Cisco for Hinrich possibly with some sort of pick .
another could be J.T. + Salmons for Hinrich & filler
Lastly J.T. for a future 1st round pick possibly with a salary filler with the pick

I am not saying a deal will happen I am just saying dont be suprised at all .

Now Hinrich is the type of guard that still seems ideal next to Reke, but that was pre-Thornton and Cousins. Hinrich is that spot shooting defending role player who can still play point well enough to be a nice mixture of all your needs. Right now, if they can dump Salmons with only Hickson or JT as the value part you have to do it, but I can't see any team eating that contract right now, especially not the Hawks who are going to be hurting under this new CBA.

Though I agree with your insite from the Kings perspective the trades that involve either Cisco or Salmons would clearly be just trying to dump Salmons or Garcia's contract wich the Kings would like to get out of at least 1 of their cvontracts thiis season . Hinrich would not be seen as a future King more than likely though he could possibly work out . At this point he is seen more as an expiring though he of course would see playing time to see how well he does mesh with our team .

What I would love to see more than anything still is the Kings making a play for either D12 or K.Love while keeping DMC I dont think we will get so lucky but you never know .

The problem was that Nate thought the same thing you thought, and the resulted in Miller not starting a lot at first and not getting enough minutes in general.

Then Nate finally caved and started him and Portland was better for it.

Well, I seem to remember pretty clearly that was because it was having a direct impact on his game and effectiveness. Roy was dipping down at that point if I recall.
