You honestly think they can trade Salmons right now with the way he's looked? It was well known that if Salmons worked for this team the role he had would never justify his salary so his value would plummet anyway. That part hasn't even worked though so you can only imagine that Kenny Thomas level of value he has at the moment.
True but Donte is tradeable, and Francisco is a longshot trade bait.
I agree that Salmons value has diminished greatly . I think he is more tradable than you think.
Yes his stock has decreased & by quit a bit but 3 points I want to make all you may very well be aware of .
1. Salmons is a scoring sf though he has not really done that great this year he is in the same boat as alot of vets this year he is struggling in large part due to the lockout as many good players and some stars are Dirk , Amare & many others I am not comparing Salmons to them as we all know Salmons is nothing more than a good player not great or elite .
2. Salmons salary goes down by $500,000 per year for the remainder of his contract with I believe a team option in his last season . So his contract is more reasonable each year at least by a bit .
3. Lastly & most importantly I never said that Salmons was the one being traded that is to say their is even a trade . I mentioned him as well as Garcia , Green & Outlaw though I believe due to the amnesty rules Outlaw cannot be traded this season . I am not 100% sure about that rule as being fact .
Bottom line : The main point I am implying is that due to us having 4 others who can play the sf on our team bringing up Honeycutt is very telling to me as he is the 5th guy who can play sf . He has not been impressive in preseason , the d-leauge etc. Without a trade or another guard or sf on our team being injured for a long enough timeframe then it makes no sense bringing him up at all .
