Napier: "Salmons defense on Ellis was outstanding"
Wha? What?
Evans was defending Ellis most of the night. Salmons was defending Wright.

It's a conspiracy, damage control, how ever you want to phrase it. The organization backs Salmons despite his garbage play.

Hayes just walked away from LA while JT was guarding no one.

WOW Chuck Hayes is getting embarrassed out there. It's not just horrible D, it's non-existent D.

I hope Salmons can play like this every night. We really need him.
Without his 4/5 performance right now, the Kings would be down big in the first quarter.

Just so wrong it's not even funny. Hayes went to help on LA and JT, yes JT!, left Aldridge because he thought that Hayes was switching when he wasn't.

Tough unit to have out there, they clearly have no idea how to play with eachother. Smart still needs to have Cousins and Hayes out there together. I don't like Hayes as a backup C. Not the best way for this team to use him.

Man, Smart you really need to put Hayes out there with Cousins!!! Now they're starting to pick and roll the Kings to death and JT is just failing on defense tonight.

LMA is eating up Thompson. I've noticed that Thompson's D has been really, really bad against big men with range. It happened against the Warriors where Lee was lighting him up every time. Switch him out for Hayes on LMA! Sheesh!

It's called help defense and being aware of what your teammates are doing. No excuses for Hayes on that one. From day 1 of the acquisition I could not understand the backers of this guy. He's out of shape and too short to guard 4's and 5's--the strikingly above average performance of anybody he's guarded this season says it all. And where is this alleged passing ability? 1.3 assists per game. Oh and we're 2-7 with him in the lineup. Hayes could easily be exhibit A for Petrie's firing.

I wonder why Jimmer hasn't played yet? Apparently, we saw Outlaw off the bench before Jimmer!

What happened to Jimmer? This team really could use some shooting, because once Salmons hits the crapper the Kings are in some trouble.

All I can say is watch the play again. On the replay it was pretty clear what happened. HAYES was providing the help, not JT. When he came over JT just ran away and realized that there was nobody for him to switch to. It was a misstep probably from them not knowing what they're doing, understandable, but JT's help defense in his own right has been ghastly.
Anyway, he seemed to guard Smith when he stole the ball from him twice, and last I checked the only guy to get LA to miss was that "short" dude. Passing ability? Well, why is Demarcus averaging even less than Hayes this season? I'll tell you why, this team doesn't have a system yet in place to make proper use of their passing. In order to pass you need people to pass it to, and guys that will MAKE SHOTS. They're getting better, still having to force things at times but it's all about how you use the player. I see what you're doing here, and you just reached far enough with your initial statement to reveal the situation to all, please, carry on.

Hayes is too fat and out of shape to be productive. I hope he doesn't think he's fine at his playing weight. He should honestly take the next 3-4 weeks off and focus on shedding body fat.
