Royce White looking like a bootleg Lebron! Really like him. Hasn't seemed to have any problems guarding Drummond so far.

i would live Davis, but if we hold to course and pick in the 8-14 range i like Terrace Jones. he could be our future sf. a lamar odom type

Actually, we are tied with Toronto for the #4 pick in the draft. If we continue to look this bad, we are at least guaranteed a top-5 pick.

I would love to tank and get a top 3 pick, but I feel like Cousins would go crazy if they are that bad.

No way the Kings will have a worse record than the Bobcats but they could possibly be second to third worse with Washington getting Nene.

I gestimated the records of all the **** teams at the bottom and Tornoto and New Jersey will be out of that pack since the Raptors have Bayless exploding Andrea back and the Nets just traded for Gearld Wallace, any ways the best case the Kings could finish at is third worst since the Bobcats are **** and the Wizards don't look very good either think the Hornets and Kings will duke it out for the 3rd spot and 4th spot in the nba lottery. Anthony Davis or bust :(

No point in watching the records that closely. That part is basically a crap shoot.

I thought about this today, and the conclusion I basically came to is that I'd like to use Tyreke and this pick to get a real PG and a big to play next to Cuz. If we luck out and get the number 1 pick, that big can be Davis. Otherwise, I think I want to trade it.

Ideal situation for me is trading Tyrke and goodies (say, Jimmer) for Rondo, and getting Davis with the number 1 pick.

Rondo\Thomas
Thornton\Salmons
Garcia\Honeycutt
Davis\Hayes
Cousins\Whiteside

I mean getting a nice SF like Barnes would be nice, but it's just not really what should be our main concern right now IMO.

We just need to be in the top 4-5 range.

I'm still not high on this draft in terms of it's star potential but there could be some really solid guys and prospects as deep as 8-9 if they come out. CJ Leslie is one guy I'm going to be watching this tourney.

Been hearing the hype on Royce White and I've got to say, pretty impressive. No way is this guy 6'8" though. Still didn't have much of a problem with Drummond when matched up, not that it's saying much. I can't believe Drummond got comparisons to Dwight and Amare. Could be a decent big but man, I still don't see it. Must have been the same people claiming Favors was the next Josh Smith, hahaha. White could be a nightmare matchup combo F at the NBA level. Runs his team like a true point and you won't find 270 pound guys like that with the ability to take their man off the dribble, holy cow. Yep, poor mans Lebron, more beef and muscle, less scoring ability.

I'll be very surprised if they pick any lower than 6. The schedule is brutal from here on out .80% of the remaining games are against playoff teams. The Kings currently have 14 wins. I'd be shocked if they finish with anymore than 22 wins, which should put them around the 4th to 6th worst record in the NBA. I don't think they'll be picking any lower than 6 and who knows, maybe they finally get some luck and jump into the top 3.

They don't even have to tank. All they have to do is keep playing .300 basketball how they have been all year and they'll end up somewhere between the 4th to 6th worst record. I don't see them falling past 4th but even 4th to 6th still has a good chance of jumping into the top 3 in the lottery.

Just did the ESPN Lottery Machine and we got a top 3 pick about 3 times out of 6. Worse we did was 7. I think we have a great shot of getting into the top 3, which would be awesome.

I'm keeping my eye on Kidd-Gilchrist, i watched some highlights on him and he I'll be honest, the kid looks like a beast. I love his game. Barnes would be great too and may be a better fit offensively w/Reke and DMC with his outside shooting. But i love the defense Kidd-Gilchrist plays, he does remind me of G Dub.
Sometimes you just have to look yourself in the mirror and say....Tyreke Evans.
That just happened.

1. Anthony Davis
2. Andre Drummond
3. Thomas Robinson
4. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
5. John Henson
6. Harrison Barnes
7. Jared Sullinger

I think we will end up with a good player in this draft. I don't see the King's improving, while a lot of the bottomscum competition improved (Nets, Tor, Was). Heres to another year of praying for the #1 pick.

It's been draft talk time for like a month now, maybe two.

This draft has some good talent up top but it's really problematic for the Kings right now for a couple reasons:
1) Other than Davis I don't think any of the bigs would be good fits with Cousins. Sullinger & Robinson are more offensive minded players; the 2 Jones' are both tweener type forwards; Drummond looks strong defensively but it's still a HUGE unknown whether he's ever more than a poor man's DeAndre Jordan; Henson looks like another guy that may never develop into anything more than a backup role; and Zeller, while skilled, is very low upside. None of these guys scream "dominating frontcourt"--and that's really what we want from a top 5 pick.
2) The other strong position in this draft is wing--namely a combination of Barnes, MKG, Beal, & Lamb. The former 2 are SFs while the latter 2 are SGs. I like MKG because of his intensity, work ethic, and defense but he's also a poor shooter. Barnes I'm not a fan of because he just screams "rich man's John Salmons"--ball dominant, not a great passer, much better shooter off the dribble than on spot ups. The 2 SGs are intriguing. Lamb has defense and shooting while Beal is more of a scorer and was supposed to be a top shooter coming out of HS (he's shooting a crappy 32% from 3, though).

Problem with taking a SG there is pretty obvious: not only would it likely push Thornton to the bench (or to another team via trade), but it means we're stuck with Evans at SF or PG all over again (whereas most want him to play SG full time).

At this point if I'm the Kings there aren't that many guys I like in this draft. My persona top 3 right now would be:
Davis -- So far ahead of anyone else it's not even funny
MKG -- I think he brings a lot of intangibles that this team lacks. His work ethic makes me believe his shot will improve
Drummond -- I probably should have said "top 2" as I don't much like Drummond either--he's WAY too raw for a top 3 pick. That said, he blocks shots and plays defense--something we could use in the front court.

if we're in the top 5 and can't get any of those guys I'd think we'd need to look at trading the pick for a PG, a SF, or a big man. If we're picking outside the top 5 the value of that pick drops immensely. At that point it makes more sense to just take the BPA and move on. At this point I'd say either go with Henson (good player with some potential and plays defense) or Perry Jones (high upside) and hope they develop into standout players.

John Hensen is going to make any team that drafts him in the top 10 really, really unhappy.

Word has it Kidd-Gilchrist is probably going to return to school next year. Be interested to see how many if any players turn down guaranteed top picks post lockout.

Maybe, but I wouldn't bank on those skinny PF's from UNC if it were me. I think he could be a solid player but if you pass up talent for him, ooh, that's going to hurt.

I'm definitely checking out that Iowa State/Kentucky game tonight. Could be a major upset if Iowa State can hit shots. Talk about a spread offense! Can't wait to see Royce White in this one. If he has a strong game tonight he might break out and into the lotto on everyones draft board.

IF he was available would we draft Drummond.

I think it might be a fantastic option. Drummond is a highly intelligent guy that prides himself on defense and would be happy to defer to cousins on offense. He's also built like a brick house but has the athleticism to play above the rim. We would have a very scary front court.

IF we drafted him I would look to move thompson and Hickson or just not resign them, which ever is better for the team. But we would badly need to get a real PG a that point so we might have to trade Evans or THornton to get it.
