4-6th pick

If we wind up outside the top 3 missing out on Ant Davis, Gilchrist and Thomas Robinson we should strongly consider trading the pick for a all star caliber veteran. Brad Beal and Harrison Barnes are shoot first players who don't fit in with what we have. Drummond is an intriguing player but he is nearly as immature as Cousins. Add the fact that he is at least 2-3 seasons away from being viewed as a consistent contributor. When Cousins contract is up and he isn't winning soon he may choose to depart.
Let Donte Greene, Jason Thompson walk. Amnesty Salmons
Resign Terrence Williams
Free Agency - Landry Fields - can shoot and defend. terrific team player, would be a great 6th man
Joel Przybilla - Big man depth, who offers a big bruising body.
Trade Draft pick (4-6) and Francisco Garcia for Andre Iguodala
Gives us an All star caliber small forward who can defend, pass and rebound.
Trade Tyreke Evans, Isaiah Thomas for Kyle Lowry, 14th pick
Kyle Lowry is a bullish on ball defender and is capable of being a top 8 pg when healthy. Thomas is a nice player but won't be needed much if Lowry is logging 35+ mpg.
Draft - John Henson. Long athletic defensive monster. Extremely poor mans Ant Davis
C. Cousins/Przybilla/Whiteside
F. Henson/Hayes
F. Iguodala/TWilliams/Honeycutt
G. Thoronton/Fields
G. Lowry/Jimmer
This is a playoff team easily. Deep with terrific defenders..Henson, Iguodala, Lowry, Fields and Hayes. Paired with explosive scorers Thornton and Cousins. Jimmer would also beable to come in and play off the ball as a boobie Gibson type with Iggy running the point for some stretches.

I've definitely seen worse plans. Although A) There's not a great chance that Henson is there at 14 IMO. He makes a lot of sense in Detroit, and B) Przybilla won't be signing here.

If not Przybilla then a veteran backup center who can hold the spot until Whiteside is ready. Dalembert would be a nice idea too. Henson isn't out of the question. Iv seen him anywhere from 8 to 17. Him or Arnett Moultrie would be a decent option.

I wonder if Sully drops to 14 when his measurements are out? I think he'd be a good compliment to Cousins, while he's not an athletic shot blocker, he seems a really skilled player, and a very solid character guy.
As a Philly fan, I think the deal for Iggy is good for both teams.

I don't think Sullinger would drop to #14 bad measurements or not. I think he already solidify himself as a top-10 choice. If he falls, it would be a steal imo.
I like Sullinger, he would be a decent fit with Cousins. Two large bodies with skilled feet and hands in the post is formidable.
Iggy for #5 is something I would consider. But I think Philly should add something for a more balanced value.

Sullinger and Cuz wouldn't be a good fit at all. We desperately need a shotblocking presence next to Cuz.

What would the kings be interested in? Not too familiar w/ the King's needs other than a SF and time.

I think the Kings should dump Salmons into the deal while the Sixers add their pick.
The Sixers gain capspace (~$14m over the next two years) + a top-5 pick for Iggy. I can't see anyone make a better offer for Iggy.
So something like:
Iggy + #15 for Salmons + #5

Could do it with Outlaw and Garcia aswell instead of Salmons.
Although my main thing here would be to know what Iggy thinks about it, and does he see himself resigning with us longterm when his contract expires.
Cause he has a player option, and we're risking trading this for a 1 year rental - so we're really taking a gamble if we do this trade.

Doesn't sound bad at all
Could probably get something more out of Philly, not Salmons and their pick more though. With Sixers' recent success they might be inclined to keep the team together.
Henson would be a great addition.
Would Rockets sell Lowry and pick for Tyreke and Thomas? Sounds very borderline, Lowry>Reke, 15>=Isaiah. Maybe adition of Whiteside could convince the Rockets, or just make it a 3 way where Sixers send something their way.
Cheaper solution might be throwing money at Dragic, trading down in the draft for Henson and an asset - portland?

C. Cousins/Przybilla/Whiteside
F. Henson/Hayes
F. Iguodala/TWilliams/Honeycutt
G. Thoronton/Fields
G. Lowry/Jimmer
Not a bad lineup, but what happens if Lowry was to get injured? Who runs the point? JImmer?? I think not. Maybe TWill? I agree Reke for Lowry is enough...keep IT.

What you guys can't afford to draft is a weak defender or a low IQ player..In fact, I think the kings should probably package the 4to6 pick and trade out of this draft. The kings need a vet leader..Somebody who can show these kids what defense and ball movement looks like. Maybe Evans and the pick to Boston for Rondo? Or a similar package to Philly for Iguodala?
Something has to change..The kings can't go into next season with the same lost roster.

On the flipside you can't go out and pick up a few middling vets and expect a group of 2-4th year players to all of sudden blossom into NBA vets and ditch out on talent in the process. This team needs to start picking up more complimentary pieces, and when they do, Smart needs to USE THEM AS SUCH. Don't try and turn that apple into an orange when you needed the apple in the first place.

Agreed, but i must admit, i'm VERY tired of this whole process. I'm so sick
of draft lotteries, the actual draft, and waiting for these idiots to develop.
How many more years of this do we have to suffer through?

That's the problem with not biting the bullet when you need to. These last 6 years are a prime example of why sometimes you just have to suck sooner. This team spent half of the years you're talking about at the back end of the lotto, you can't find the talent they needed that low. The last 3 years have been the right path, up high with a chance to land a Tyreke Evans and a Demarcus Cousins. Odds are you don't find that talent 10-13 deep, you get what they got: Spencer Hawes and Jason Thompson. This year could be a tipping point where they just have too much young talent which is sometimes the point where you package some of those pieces for need, but it depends on what's out there and the cost. The one positive is some of the young pieces this team has, specifically Thornton and Cousins, are fairly complete as players so they have a chance of making a major leap in the span of a year, Thornton did last year, hopefully Cousins does this one. Then there's Tyreke, if he does too this team will be dangerous if coached the right way.

Arguably, there was talent there--at least in 08. But I think part of the reason we took JT relates to why it took so long to blow it up and rebuild--we didn't want to wait to get better.
But if we had taken Ibaka instead of JT, we'd be much better off now.
Of course, it's also possible we just were never interested in Ibaka as a player--which wouldn't really surprise me.
