Kings Offer QO to JT

Post#1 » by bibby1023 » Tue Jun 26, 2012 12:49 am

James Ham
The Sacramento Kings have just announced that they have extended a qualifying offer to power forward Jason Thompson, making the four-year pro out of Rider University a restricted free agent.

Yeah, saw this one coming, but good to see. JT is the perfect 3rd big off the bench (which is what Hickson should have been).

Best case scenario is he comes back on that QO.

What kind of offer will the Kings match for him?

I would hope not too much beyond that QO.

Yeah. I wonder if announcing this now means we won't be offering it to Donte?

I didn't even think about that. I just figured they would both get it considering at any time the Kings could just rescind it if they needed that space. The problem with JT and Donte is their cap holds pretty much wipe out most of the Kings play money this summer. I guess they can still negotiate though and always pull it off the table for either player.

Woof. We'll see how that works out for this squad. One could maybe hope that Petrie is trying to retain some level of sign and trade interest. :( One major positive about Robinson is that maybe you can start walling in your other needs because he's more ready now. It's been too long now, it has to start making some sense by this trade deadline, it just has to.
