What is the deal with him?
Will he play this year? Will he revert to some sort of form or will he sit at the end of the bench pouting?

Right now it looks like he might very well be the starting 3 man.

He looked terrible when he started @ SF for the Kings but when he came off the bench, he looked real solid. Which is surprising because Salmons is known to be "better starter/worse reserve" type of players.
Unfortunately, Petrie/Smart still has a lot of faith in Salmons and I won't be surprised he goes back to a starting role (SF) next year.

The deal with Salmons is he is overpaid and he sucks. Last season he was probably the worst player on the team and single handedly cost us a handful of games. But this is the Kings so to answer your question yes he will play this year, probably be the starter and most likely play a lot of minutes <sigh>.

Any interest in a gooden for salmons type deal?? You guys already have garcia and a few others at SG/SF, maybe gooden could even out the roster?

I'd love to move Salmons but Gooden doesn't make much sense. It doesn't save the Kings any money and with Thompson, DMC, Robinson, Hayes and Whiteside there is no need for Gooden. Salmons sucked last year but sf is our weakest position so we could use Salmons more than Gooden.

What if the trade was something like
Sac Gets
Hedo
Bucks Get
Salmons
Magic Get
Gooden
??

No. I do like Hedo more than Salmons but over the next 2 years it will cost the Kings around 8 million more, not sure if it's worth it for a declining Hedo. If we could throw in Outlaw that would make up most of the 8 million.

its actually even I think
12-13
Hedo-11.8
Salmons-8.1
-3.7
13-14
Hedo waived-6 mil
Salmons-7.6
+1.6
14-15
Salmons waived-1 mil
+1
So its about 100K difference

Hmm I didn't know Hedo could be waived. Yet if we are just going to waive Hedo and the money ends up being the same either way then it seems like such a lateral move. I'm not seeing the benefit for the Kings, Salmons sucks but he's not a locker room cancer. I think we only trade him if we can save money. The Magoofs are all about penny pinching and saving money.

Not to mention if we trade Salmons, and waive Hedo, then we really do not have an adequate sf. Garcia is not good enough to start plus he is always injured, Greene wont be back, and Outlaw is not very good. So we would still have to try and sign a sf which will cost money, so in the end it would still end up costing more money, unless we decided to roll with Outlaw and Garcia (yuck!).
