@espn_macmahon: Coming on @ESPNDallas -- Source says Mavs will use amnesty clause on Brendan Haywood.

Has 4 years left on his deal, making around 38 million - which obviously like with Outlaw we're only offering to cover some of it per year.

Trade Chuck and grab him on the cheap from the waivers claim? yes please.

The guy can hardly move and he certainly can't guard the pick and roll, AT ALL. Too many good pick and roll teams to cut one of the best pick and roll defenders for a guy that can hardly move. He'll go to a contender anyway, probably the Heat.

This team has to make major moves to it's rotation, slotting in a guy that will give you 5-10 minutes a night or none at all does you no good.

He's not passing the waivers claim.

putting a 2mil per year bid on Haywood would be absolutely fantastic.

Better question is why not?

Grabbing him on the cheap would be great. would you prefer Hassan over him? cmon.

Yes, I would rather have Hassan over him, since Whiteside does things that he can't. Now if Hayes wasn't on the team, that would be a different story.

If we go after Haywood, I see the Kings move Cousins at PF and have Haywood start at C for defensive protection. But in consequence, we will have a glut of bigs of T-Rob, JT, Hayes & Whiteside. Because of that, I don't see them going after Haywood.

I mean, if Whiteside stink it up in the SL and the Kings are actively trading Hayes, maybe, I could see Haywood to the Kings..

Cousins and Haywood would be horrible, seriously horrible. Haywood makes Daly look like Andre Drummond athletically.

Haywood's best days are long gone. He is a 32 year old Center with 4 years remaining (last year T/O) on his contract. He does nothing for the Kings.

No thanks. If they want to add another big I would go after Anthony Randolph or Kawame Brown.

This. Would be a good pick up. Need to address the SF issue too. Ideally re-upping T-Will would make me happy. Haywood is a no go, for the Kings at least. If they were a contendor, then it could be justified.

I mean, sure, speed & laterally, were are worse off than before. But Haywood is a huge body that can really patrol the paint. In his limited minutes, his numbers were actually solid. Doesn't need any shots on offense, his only goal is to play the enforcer role.

But like I said, Whiteside needs to stink it up in the SL and Hayes to be traded if we want Haywood here. Don't see them going after them while having all of those guys in the frontcourt.
