The Kings, who spent most of the last two seasons near the league's minimum payroll, had to waive center Hassan Whiteside to make room for Brooks' deal and have now reached the league's salary cap of approximately $58 million. They had been in talks with free agent small forward Terrence Williams, but a source with knowledge of the team's plans said he is no longer part of the Kings' future. The addition of Brooks came just hours after the team announced the addition of small forward James Johnson via trade with the Raptors for a second-round pick.

Farewell, Terrence Williams. For 18 games last season, you seemed like a step in the right direction, even if the fit wasn't there with Evans in the long run. Good luck finding a new team out there that will give you a chance, even if it's with the......Lakers... :(

We probably should of traded Evans along with Jimmer and re signed Williams. During his time here he outplayed Tyreke IMO. But he is too short to be a sf he really only has one position and with the bayou bomber and Tyreke there is just no room. I get the impression the Kings were willing to bring him back but Williams was asking for more than we wanted to spend on a 3rd sg.

Dude you need to get real.... "A step in the right direction". TWill played well for his time in SAC. Think of it this way, we signed JJ a taller more defensive SF, sign Aaron Brooks to fill up the ball handling side of things and shooting. I like TWILL and believe me if Salmons or Garcia or Outlaw somehow disappeared I'd gladly want Twill on our Roster.

This is an appreciation thread, not a debate on what move was right or wrong. Take that to another thread, pal.

He understood his role here in Sac, something rare.

My guess on the Twill situation is they were asking for more than the min, or his agent saw the Kings do nothing to clear space for him to play and said "F that".

Fantastic feel for the game. I'd take him as backup PG.

Petrie suggested in an interview that they'd look at bringing him back if they happened to clear a roster spot, such as by doing a 2-for-1 type of deal. I'd like to have him back. He has a nice all-around game.

100% agreed! Lets not confuse that with being an all star though.

I'm going to miss in NBA2K13 -- he had something like 88+ dunking. Man, that was fun while it lasted.
