Evans vs Curry
They both had great rookie seasons, but both have struggled with injuries. Curry just got paid 4 yr 44 million. What is Evans worth? Any chance the Maloofs pay him or do they deal him before the trade deadline?

Re: Evans vs Curry
Given how lukewarm we've been about extending Tyreke, and the fact that he has popped up in trade rumors, I don't think we'll be doing that.
Who knows though. I do know that Petrie will, like always, be unaffected by what Tyreke's actual market value is.

Re: Evans vs Curry
If he doesn't improve this year he should only get what MT23 is getting. Tyreke probably won't accept that type of offer but he isn't worth 10+ on this team.

Yeah, really if somebody offers him more than that, I'd rather let him walk. S&T him, and see if we can get a pick.

Re: Evans vs Curry
This isn't bad for a guy like Tyreke. I would sign him to 11 million a year in a heartbeat, easily tradeable contract if he doesn't improve.

Re: Evans vs Curry
No need to make any of the mistakes other teams are making right now. Curry's injury concerns are much different than Tyrekes in the sense that Curry's keep popping up. Best move right now is to wait and see how the team does, my fear since this rebuild began was Petrie boxing himself in before this team looked like it could even function on the court. He's already pretty much spent the wealth of his available cap on Hayes, JT, and drafting TRob. All 3 players who play the same spot more or less. Might even be too late to factor cap money for the future because if he brings back Reke/Cuz it's pretty much gone after that JT deal.

Re: Evans vs Curry
Cousins is a max player, MT's contract is a bargain considering what kind of money is being thrown around right now, we don't have to worry about T-Rob for 4-5 years.
If we finally do the right thing and move Evans to the 2 and MT the bench, watch Evans explode and us having to pay 14-15 million a year for Tyreke.

Unfortunately that will be Tyreke's arguments. Tyreke>DD and DD is way overpaid.

Re: Evans vs Curry
When you have a player that you don't really know what position he plays for you that has to knock some money off. 5 year 36 million Reke, take it or leave it! hehehe.

LOL
No way.
If DD got 10m/year, Evans would at least get that much.
DD doesn't play defense, can't pass, doesn't rebounds, no 3PT shot and can't really create his own shot. And yet, he gets paid more than Evans?? Not happening.
The market now has been dictated already. If I was Evans, I look at DD's extension and go from there.

If the Blazers offered 12 million a year, do you think the Maloof's would match?

Right now?
No. It all depends on how he does this year.

Re: Evans vs Curry
All the guys from that draft are starting to get extensions. Harden obviously got a lot more then anyone else will. But Holiday, DeRozan, and Curry all got 10+ million per year. I don't see how Reke will want less especially since he's just as good if not better then the three mentioned.

I think someone will pay him Curry money. I don't know if it will be the Maloofs or the team we trade him to. Evans looked great last night.

Re: Evans vs Curry
Derozen got 4/42 and Curry got 4/44 so I would assume that he'll get something like curry. for the shooting that curry gives, tyreke gives you defense and penetration skills so i think that 44 million isn't far-fetched to ask for
