The unfortunate reality is that no matter what happens, there is always going to be a fan base that will be alienated. The only way to avoid that as much as possible would be to grant an expansion franchise to Seattle and leave the other teams as-is. But since that is out of the question, we, as fans of the sport of basketball, need to remember that in this day and age, where decisions are almost always profit-driven, one's happiness and gains often come at the expense of another. Therefore, people of Seattle, by all means, enjoy your moment when it comes, but don't forget the sacrifices others will have made for that moment to be possible. At the same time, people of Oklahoma, remember the hope that Seattleites had for their promising core of young players, brimming with potential, before it was all taken away from them. But don't let that thought ruin your moment, for we, as fans of the sport of basketball, also need to understand that it's ultimately a game, played for entertainment, in which no one really gets hurt (except for the athletes' injuries), and make sure not to misdirect our passion for this game in ways that may cause someone to get hurt. People of Sacramento, if it is really your team that becomes the replacement Sonics, I'm really sorry, but keep in mind that no fan is to be blamed for this, and please don't direct your anger at any of them.
