What do you think of DeMarcus Cousins, John Salmons and 2nd rounder For
Joakim Noah, Jimmy Butler, Bulls First Rounder
Im a fan of both teams and actually feel this is pretty even value..probably the best you will get for Cuz.
To those of you who think Kings wont trade Cousins ever the time is ticking..
Noah obviously is a top 5 center, Butler is a young 23 yr old wing who is a perfect fit for the Kings. Defensive minded, doesn't need ball to be effective. Having a pretty good season. Then we also move up around 15 spots in the draft

Yeah, no thanks. I'd like to add Noah next to Cuz but certainly not trade him for him. When you trade franchise level talent for upper echelon role players bad things happen.

A franchise level talent is someone who can easily be seen as the best player on a championship level team. sorry to break it to you but Cousins is not that, neither is a guy like John Wall. Cousins fits more in the Zach Randolph/Rasheed Wallace, maybe Bynum complimentary role.

I love how you come to our board, offer us a sub-par trade, tell us it is the best we will get and that time is ticking, and then have the gall to say that Cousins really isn't that good when posters don't like your trade.
Have fun with that attitude in your life.

criticize the trade all you want thats why I posted it to get your opinion..Only fact I was really arguing was the true definition of a franchise level talent..the term gets thrown around loosely.
Guys like Joe Johnson, Rudy Gay, Amare Stoudemire, Zach Randolph..not franchise level talent. Great players no doubt. Just like Cousins is, just like a guy like Rasheed Wallace. It really isn't a secret that Cousins might be out considering all the publicized ciaos surrounding him and the franchise.
In terms of getting far in life thank you. 20 years old making close to 6 figures working with LeSean McCoy and Drew Rosenhaus its this exact type of attitude that helped get me where I am. Shooting down contracts and ideas and laughing off certain prospects we choose to recruit is an essential part of the job so you were right with that one

I'm not going to get in another debate about semantics but I'd bet you there are about 30 teams that view at least one player on their team as "franchise" talent. Right, wrong, or indifferent they all have to feel like they are building around something.
Hate to break it to you, but Cousins is only in his 3rd year and if you can't see the potential he has, that's on you. Will he reach it to it's full extent? I don't know, but if he does you're probably talking top 5 player in the league in time, not just at his position, in the league. You can't give that up unless you have a solid piece to fill some of that role, or you simply become a better team by adding lesser talent/better fit types. That is not where this franchise is at yet, not even close. Right now you do the best you can to build the right system around Cousins and bring in the right players to put around him. Those in charge now haven't done that and the only hope should be whoever takes the helm from here does just that.
