Game #2 - Clippers @ Kings

Never done a game thread before but I'm so hyped about this season.
Clippers come to Sacramento on the second half of a back to back. Winnable game IMO. The Clippers put a lot of energy into beating a very good Golden State team.
Projected Starting Lineups:
Kings:
Grevis
Thornton
Salmons
Patterson
DMC
Clippers:
CP3
JJ Redick
Dudley
Blake
Deandre
Keys to the game:
IMO the key is the same it will be all year for the Kings...Defense. Contesting 3's by Redick and Dudley will be huge. CP3 is going to get his but limiting the secondary weapons will be huge.
Match up to watch:
VS
Both are huge spark plugs off the bench, Will be exciting to see the second units in this one.
Go Kings!

That's what I'm talking about. Get Thornton some easy hoops via some back screens and let him loose. Same type of player as Cuz in that regard.

I don't think B-Mac is a good fit with IT. Time and time again Ben runs the floor and IT won't look for him. I love IT but his mentality is attack & score. Ben can put the ball down a little bit but he needs to be fed.

Tough loss. I'm still really encouraged by these first games though.

Some things I noticed, was at the game so may have missed some stuff.
Salmons, Outlaw combo at sf is terrible, why John still thinks he can put the ball on the floor and drive is beyond me. McLemore got schooled hard by Jamal Crawford as well.
With Cuz out it looks like our offensive flow sucks, 1 man shows pretty much.
PPat has not showed much so far this season either.

Our sf position is really bad.... I like what mike malone has done so far for this team! And I love the support from the fans this year...the energy is getting back to that old arco thunder again...hoping we can continue the sellout and start a new sellout streak again...

Well in Game 1 we got zero out of the SG, SF, and PF spots. At least in this game we got something out of the SGs. Salmons is a negative while Outlaw is invisible. Patterson has not been able to stretch the floor and got overpowered by Blake. We are going to need one more position to step up if we want to beat Golden State tomorrow.

Just watched the game, really disappointing stuff.
IT had a huge game, but has he ever passed the ball to McLemore? Seems hell bent on not giving him a look.
Salmons is finished, Outlaw would be better starting for his D. And speaking of D, why the hell weren't we getting up on them when they picked up the dribble? We let them off the hook so many times with easy passes.
This game should be the last straw, even though it's only game 2, in regards to finding an upgrade for the SF position. Salmons needs to go along with a combination of Jimmer, JT, PPat (who has also been massively disappointing) and maybe MT.
I really like the way Malone is coaching, at least you can see structure in his rotations and a lot more system with the offence.

Pistons fan. Cousins is a monster, but he's an out of control human being as a basketball player. You guys have no choice but to hope that he sorts himself out, but people don't just chance or mature that easily. He's a nasty guy, and a ticking time bomb.
McLemore has major confidence issues, IMO. That kid does not believe in himself as a player. I think he's missing some serious skills - especially in terms of his handle, but when he's right he's a gorgeous looking shooter. The problem is you can have the greatest form in the world, but if you don't believe in yourself, your actions and results will always be consistent with you making yourself right about your lack of self-confidence. In other words, Ben expects to fail. He's disappointed when he does, and he's happy when he's succeeding, but he's not surprised at all when it doesn't turn out for him. He has to breakthrough that or he'll end up a bust of a pick.

I actually disagree. It wasn't until last night that I saw Ben look unsure of himself. He played pretty well & showed a lot of confidence during the pre-season, especially after an average summer league. What I see is a rookie who is not trying to overstep his boundaries and is trying to play within the game. It would be nice if IT would pass him the ball. Not doing displays a lack of confidence because he's a rookie and I understand that but we need to get this kid going early. We don't have enough good players not to. B-Mac will be just fine. As I said earlier, I think he fits better with Vasquez. At least until IT starts looking for him.

He looked uncomfortable being schooled by Jamal, who has been in the league since Ben was like 6 years old.
Really not much to see here besides a young fella being
