A combined 50 points on 18-32 shooting (good enough for 56%) in 2 games. And he hasn't even gotten settled in yet. I must say, what a terrible player this is...

But seriously, this is what I've been saying for the longest. A change of scenery can do wonders. One has to realize the difference between the Raptors' situation and our situation. The Raptors annointed him as a #1 option by default and gave him a green light to shoot to his heart's content. Here, we have enough other guys who can pick up the scoring slack to where he can take his time and let the game come to him. And still excel.

One man's trash is another man's treasure. Thanks a lot, Raptors. You may have some company in the GM of the year candidacy.

I've been a fan of Rudy Gay. He will be inconsistent down the line but he is also still a valuable player. Yes his contract is pricey, but what can you do about it right now? Hopefully he signs a lesser deal in the future based on his market value. I don't know much about your coach, but if he is at least average or competent, then Rudy Gay will be fine and a good asset. He will also increase his trade value with you guys as he has already shown. I see him averaging about 20/6/3 on 45% shooting for you guys for the rest of the season.

Before I make my statement, I am going to premise this by saying it is still to early to tell how it is going to pan out.

The situation was obvious for Gay. He gets traded from a contender to a bottom-feeder. No chemistry and already had Derozen and then drafted Ross. If I was Gay I would do anything to get moved from that team. Now when this deal went down it was an obvious win for both teams. For the Raptors it was addition by subtraction. It opened opportunity for Big Val to flourish and get more touches and also allowed Ross and Derozen to be the consistent 2 and 3. Now for this Kings this is a 100% increase in talent. Literally every piece we gave up, the counter to them is better. Granted we gave our starting point guard on top but he was getting beat out by IT so it doesn't hurt that bad.

Overall, I really think we are putting together a soon to be amazing roster.

Sac may afford Rudy more easy fast break points, but that's about it.

If you feel Sac has more scoring options, therefore Rudy can chill - you're wrong. When Rudy came to Toronto, they had DeMar scoring 20 ppg, Bargnani right around there, and Amir and Lowry averaging in the teens.

This year... the bigs for Toronto have been scoring like mad since Rudy left because they couldn't get touches before. Demar would chuck cuz he knew he might not see the ball again.

If you think Rudy shooting the ball WAY more than Boogie or IT makes him a #2 or 3 option then you aren't looking at anything other than points scored.

This is Boogie's team - and he is going to snap as soon as he gets tired of not getting ball and watching Rudy's 3 sail wide.

Lol at Raptor fans looking for similarities. Not exact quotes but here is the logic: "Gay played great here in Toronto the first few games which means Gay must only be able to play well when he first joins a team. Doomsdsy is approaching Sac" or "his shots fell in Toronto but then they didn't so Sac is screwed"

I think we can all agree its okay to stop attempting to hammer in my brain how much he sucked in Toronto. I'll form my own opinion of Rudy wearing Kings purple. Actually, according to Basketball Reference, Rudy's first two weeks with the Raptors included seven games. These were his stats:

21 ppg 6.3 rpg 2.7 apg on 38% FG% and 19.4% 3pt%

In fact, Gay started his Raptors stint with only 2 good games before regressing into the inefficient monster Dwayne Casey created. After his first two games, he didn't hit 45% on his FG percentage until 10 games later, and didn't hit 50% on his FG until 18 games later.

So its been 2 good games with the Kings so far which matches what he did in his introductory stint as a Raptor. I'm curious to see if he continues to play within the offense, attacking the rim as much as possible, and only taking fadeaway midrange jumpers opportunistically.

In the first 2 games in Sactown with Gay starting you had 12 and 17 assists. That;s 14.5 per game. Before Gay you were averaging 21. Small sample size but do you see him effecting your ball movement? He really hurt Toronto that way.

Thing is before salmons ate up a good amount of minutes at the SF position so at least with Gay we have an NBA small forward, but I am not a fan of gay and still not am for us just two games in.

It's not him at all. The most positive thing I've seen from him so far is his passing. He's gone out of his way at times to be unselfish. Good sign IMO. I would blame some of that on not having Vasquez but mostly just the newness factor. This team was in the passing dumps to start this year because Malone ran preseason lineups like the wheel of fish. They eventually started to get some plays down and chemistry and things picked up. So far I'm finally confident in a Kings coach after so many years of just absolute bottom of the barrel coaching candidates. I think Malone knows what he's doing.

I said at the beginning of the year this teams success would be tied to the APG category. That was in large part because they lacked another player that could break the offensive sets and get you baskets on his own and especially at the line. I still think passing will be very important for this team but it won't be as crucial now since they have some legit talent to go with Cousins. If guys move, Gay, IT, and Cousins can and will find them. I hope Malone stresses that more and more as the season wears on.

Game 4 - 22 points on 8-13 (61%) shooting. I'm still waiting for this horrible, inefficient chucker that everybody told me about to show his face.
