It would seem STOP has run out of gas and is just coasting to a complete stop

So close....
I'll exhale once a shovel breaks ground, so tired of this.

My confidence is so high that I've stopped paying attention to the daily stuff... put the shovel in the dirt and lets get on with it

The city council certainly does have absolute control over the city's finances. Let a legislature legislate. Government is far from perfect, but I would much rather have them make law over folks like those at STOP and VFAD.

The decision should come today. If the numbers I am reading are correct then the voters should get to vote on this. Is it worth over a billion dollars over a 35 year period to pay for this arena? Sac shouldn't be on the hook for that much money.

People typically vote for their best interest, money or services in their pockets, a city wide investment is a tough sell, unless it has to do with things severely laced with propaganda and fear.
I sure hope it does not reach the ballot.

Don't know if you guys follow on Twitter, but the judge is smacking the sh*t out of STOP right now. Basicaly properly, and kindly saying they're complete idiots.

Ruling delayed until Tuesday, but oh man. What a great way to end it. Here's the abridged version.
Judge: "I'm a thorough man, so I'll give you one more shot at a written argument for Tuesday, but this thing is pretty much over. So you'll have to--"
STOP Attorney: "Just do it, man. Say it. Say the words. An appeal costs money, and these dudes are out of it, and like, I'm not taking this crap pro bono. So go on. End the misery."
Judge: "Nah. Tuesday."
I wonder if they'll ever write anything. I wonder if they'll do it without their attorney. Imagine if the people running STOP try to write the appeal themselves. God, that would be a hilarious thing to see.

Well not to count the chickens before they come home to roost, a little taunt for good times.

I always believed it at some level since Mayor Johnson was elected, and all doubts were erased when the Maloofs officially sold to Vivek & Co.
Anyway STOPs response sounded like they weren't likely to appeal, probably because there isn't enough time. It would have to be filed, heard, and approved by Monday. So effectively the arena ballot measure is dead.
There is also another lawsuit saying the city lied about the actual value of the subsidy, but it's essentially nothing and will be heard by the same judge (Judge Frawley). The depositions didn't uncover anything since there was nothing to uncover.
