Royce White and Orlando Johnson

Post#1 » by Draino » Wed Feb 26, 2014 2:59 am

Kings worked out Royce White today and likely to sign him once Jimmer clears waivers.

Also, tomorrow, they are set to sign Orlando Johnson (former Kings 2nd rounder).

Thoughts?

I'm actually kind of excited about both, very low risk, somewhat of a reward, especially if White turns out to what he is supposed to be. Maybe we can make up for the Thomas Robinson pick. Johnson was in the same draft.

If we were at a gambling table, I'd be looking at a wager of 2 10 days then a release with an invite to camp next year.

White, if he shows up, will be this teams best pick and roll PG from day 1. Yikes!

Since nobody has asked the obvious I guess I will: why sign Royce White if he cant fly on planes? Mental illness doesnt go away over night. A different setting and logo on his clothes wont change the fact he is mentally ill. And this comes from a guy who has anxiety issues.

I was thinking the same exact thing. Who knows what has transpired him since leaving the NBA.

Sounds like we are signing Orlando Johnson. Good move I suppose. Stay away from white, we don't even need another pf

No risk in signing White to a 10 day contract. I like it. He has the skill. A ten day contract won't do much harm.

Not like our power forwards are some amazing group either.

I say why not on White. This team has to manufacture value out of something. White has an interesting set of skills, maybe he's ready for prime time.

Agreed. As long as he's not a distraction, I have no problems with it.

It's official! Wikipedia says Royce White is a Sacramento King.

I would imagine these moves are moves that Malone would be endorsing. Sounds like Johnson is going to get a legit shot here. They finally have a guard who is going to try on defense, hopefully he can help fill that need.

Not sure the problem with White. A ten day contract does nothing. Low risk high reward potential.

I think that's the prob. When has Royce white not been a distraction. At least it will only be for ten days.

If he doesn't find a home with you, we'll welcome him back next summer.
