Kings put No. 8 pick on trading block

The Kings put the No. 8 pick in the draft on the trade block immediately after the lottery Tuesday night, league sources told NBA.com, clearly looking to add at least one impact veteran in an attempt to push into the playoff conversation next season rather than wait for another rookie prospect to develop.

The team will indeed have a number of options this summer. Any ideas on what Kings fans are realistically looking to haul in?

As an Atlanta fan, might I humbly start the bidding at Jeff Teague for the #8 pick with whatever filler is needed for salary cap purposes?

Teague is an impact veteran at a position of need on a great long-term contract. Perfect for what your stated goal is. He's a 4 year veteran, brought up in a winning environment. Has played in the playoffs every season and is still improving. His most recent season compares very favorably to Tony Parker: Comparison HERE

On a 3 year contract for $8 million per, a deal like this won't last long!! :)

NOTE: I come in peace!

I am hearing rumors of an 8/15 swap and Dennis Schroeder coming to Sac? I don't know if that is the entire puzzle but I would be for that!

Eh...I'm not excited about Dennis Schroder and he isn't "the proven NBA player" that Pete is apparently looking for. However if they have someone in mind that they think they could at 8 but stlll get at 15 and also get Schroder I guess that would be ok.

I like Scroter and Teague, but I question whether either is that much if at all better than Isaiah Thomas.

If 8 can get you Teague you probably do it.

8 for 15 and Schroeder is iffy to me. Not enough unless there is something like JT or Landry going back Atlanta's way. I like more of the players in the 15 range but the value seems off and if one of Smart or Randle is there heck no.

I think he'd be great next to Cousins, but are the Knicks willing to take on Jason Thompson or Carl Landry?

I'd totally do 8, Jason Thompson, Derrick Williams or Jason Terry for Chandler and Shumpert.

Chandler and Shumpert are the type of players this team needs, but I got health concerns about both of them. Definitely wouldn't trade #8 for them unless the Knicks were taking back Landry + Thompson, which they would never do considering their cap situation.

I think Schroeder is a better passer and obviously has higher defensive potential as a Rondo 2.0.

Schroeder/15 doesn't make sense tho because both those assets require development. Kings already have Ray McCallum too.

Yeah, we don't need potential guys, especially at the very critical PG position. Isaiah is the team's vocal leader at least. Younger players can't replace that.

Been trying like hell today to find a way to move our 8, and be able to dump Landry, both JT's, and Outlaw.

And get back people who will likely take us to the playoffs on expiring deals.

If you look closely, many teams out there can be given incentive to take our bad contracts if we can help them get some assets.

This is a special draft, a few teams with multiple picks, rebuilds, etc.

I think it's possible to work some hoodoo this draft.

May need some help, but we are close.

Kings trade #8, Knick's second round 2016, 2018 second round/pick swap option with Portland,Carl Landry, Jason Thompson, Jason Terry, Travis Outlaw

Knick's trade Chandler

Bull's trade 2014 picks 16, 19

Orlando trade Affalo, 2014 # 12, 2015 second round, 2016 second round

King's receive Affalo, Chandler, 2016 second Round from Orlando

Knick's receive Jason Thompson, Jason Terry, # 16 from Chicago, return of 2016 second round, 2018 second round from Kings pick/swap option with Portland, 2015 second round from Orlando

Bull's receive #12, Outlaw, Rights to Kings pick in 2015 reduced to top 3 protected, unprotected in 2016

Orlando receives #8, #19, Carl Landry

Celtics fan here.

Teague has way more value than #8 pick IMHO

I'd give Sullinger for the 8 pick only cause I like Vonleh with our 6th and we have too many PFs. I think Sullinger could easily be a perennial all star PF if he gets the weight off and improve his cardio only 50/50 that he does this.

Would the Knicks really move Hardaway before Shumpert? I'd be surprised if they did. Kings would have to dump something in a deal like this. Replace Jason Terry with Jason Thompson or Carl Landry and it's a go.
