Signed as an undrafted free agent will be interesting to see him in summer leauge action. I think this is a zero risk signing with some upside too it, we just gotta see if the traingimg staff can get his weight under control, he seems pretty agile for a guy that stands 7'5" and weighs 350 pounds

How did this guy not get drafted?
Put him in the D league, develop him into a specialist, good find Pete, no risk potential high reward. I just don't see how a guy like this at 11-12 can not give you occasional help with inbound, special plays etc once or twice every few games.

From what little I've seen of him, he could end up having a minimum paid job for 10 years in the league. I hope he gets some mins in summer league, looking forward to seeing what he can do.

Haha, I freakin' knew it! Cool. I was hoping he'd go undrafted and sign w/ us. I figured Vivek would like this kid, especially as an ambassador.

Seems like a perfect fit with Vivek wanting the kings to expand into the Indian market

I'm rooting for him to do well..
He isnt super talented he knows it... but he has a friggin GIANT body literally.
If he can get his endurance and stamina up so that he can run up and down at brisk pace the length of court for 10 minutes non-stop without passing out he will be USEFUL.
He will have access to the strength coaches, trainers, dieticians and big men coaches.. he should absorb as much as possible within his contract year, I'm sure Kings will use D-league to get minutes and fitness into him...
By year's end, I dont see how he wont be a 10-12th men worthy on any team.... 7'5.. 9'9 standing reach... 350 pounds!! if he can turn those 350+ pounds to muscle and strength he would prevent any other centers from grabbing rebounds by simply boxing them out.
He needs to specialize as a paint defender/clogger and he would earn 4-5 Million a year for 10 years...

In actually turning that body into muscle, I'd like him to drop 50 of those pounds. With more muscle, you'll have more strength to move around less weight. I'm 6'4", average 185-195 and run marathons. My best marathon I weighed less than 180 and felt great cause I had at least 10 fewer pounds to carry for those 26.2+ miles. If he can slim down and shape up, that will give him a lot more durability and stamina for a long NBA season/career.

I've watched him play quite a bit considering one of the sports channels in the region shows mostly WAC games. His issue in college was that he was good for about 4 up and downs on the court before he was looking gassed. He is skilled though and I really hope he makes the team. I think he can be a Roy Hibbert type for 5-6 plays in a half. The problem with players like him, or any dominant non-athletic shotblocker in college is that they use that no defensive 3 second rule to their advantage in college and can pretty much take not so great teams to the tournament just via their presence. In the NBA he'll have to learn how to, be conscience of, and be physically able to get out of the paint quickly. Then there is the part where teams will try and put him in pick and roll situations. I agree I think he can be a player you put in a special teams kind of fashion with your roster. Never know, maybe even more than that.

There is another vid out there showing him workout previous to the draft and he said he'd already lost 15 pounds and said he was feeling so good that he was going to keep going, or something to that effect.

I watched this guy upclose this past year when Hawaii played against New Mexico State for their annual midnight game for ESPN's 24 hours of coverage. Honestly he's a big guy and he killed our team but that was more to do with Hawaii being terrible at interior defense and not having a great defensive big. I'd be shocked if he made the team. He's WAY too slow for the NBA game. He's got a good feel for the game and actual has a very impressive touch on his shot for a guy his size but I don't think he will ever be able to compete simply because the NBA game is too fast and athletic for him. With that said I'm not surprised that Vivek is giving him the chance.

Wow.
Take the time to develop this guy Pete and Vivek, has to be a way to get this guy a couple of tactical mins after he does some conditioning.
He is enormous.
