Game 1: Sacramento Kings vs. GS Warriors | 10/29 7:00PM

Post#1 » by Wolfay » Wed Oct 29, 2014 7:14 pm

Opening night is upon us, and we begin the 2014-2015 NBA Season at home against our rivals just down the road from us, the Golden State Warriors! Today is made extra special since we broke ground on the Downtown ESC!!! It's a surreal feeling after seeing several attempts fail over the years, but make no mistake, SHOVELS ARE IN THE GROUND. I repeat, SHOVELS ARE IN THE GROUND. Sacramento Proud!!!

Now for the game tonight, we've got a tough one ahead of us. Our preseason play was, well let's just say it was inconsistent, and this Warriors team ain't no joke. They'll likely be battling for a top spot in the West, while we're just hoping to witness signs of forward progress. If anybody in the world has Boogie kryptonite in their shoes, it's definitely Andrew Bogut, and the rest of their lineup matches up or surpasses our own. All of that said, we always play them hard, and we're at home on a special opening night. I mean, look at all dat purple!!!

My prediction: Kings win 135-134, with a kickout pass from Boogie to STAUSKAS(!?) for three at the end of double overtime.

And the Giants win the World Series.

Long live the Kings. Long live Sacramento.

You have us winning the game tonight Wolfay? That is optimistic but something I'd like to see.

This is the first game I will be attending in awhile. I debated whether or not to go because of the World Series but I just have to take in that opening day atmosphere. Because it is opening night I think we will go balls out but this Warriors team has just looked top notch in pre-season and I think are ready to try to seriously compete this year. We will make it a game until the latter part of the 4th and lose by 5-10 IMO

Less optimistic, Think Klay and Curry will combine for over 50, McLemore is going to get torched all night long.

115-100 In favor of warriors.

Here's one thing to consider, Mark Jackson seemed to have Malones cajones in a vice. New coach, maybe a different result?

As long this game is competitive and close, I'm happy.

I hope we do win but I have a feeling that the Warriors will come out of the door swinging.

Then again, we haven't lost a home opener in a long time. So, who knows?

Bogut has always been trouble for Cousins (other than a game or 2), I don't remember Cousins having a good game against him before.

He struggled against him until last year. So far he looks like the Cuz of two years ago. Forcing everything.

It feels strange to have a PG that can stick to his man one on one. A good strange.

Isaiah wasn't bad about sticking to his man when his man had the ball. He just often couldn't contest the shot, and was really bad off the ball.

Anyway, arena looks more full now. Phew. That was disheartening for a second there.

I like the court makeover, specifically the key.

Gay looks more fluid and agile in his movements.

Collison plays big. I like it.

Man, what an annoying game. Feels like we're way farther behind than we are.

Pick and roll reset offensive back in full force here. Seeing very little in the way of this new system here tonight.

Kings were up and Cousins isn't making shots yet. Kings also held the Warriors offense out of 5th gear. Oh and we have the lead. Yeah, I'm happy.

wtf is with BMac's shot?

He has to shoot a lot better because Nik is right behind his tail.
