Sacramento Kings (9-7) host the Memphis Grizzlies (14-2) at Sleep Train Arena
Game Time: 3:00 PM (Comcast SportsNet)

- Demarcus Cousins (virus) ruled out
Kings Starting Lineup:PG: Darren Collison
SG: Ben Mclemore
SF: Rudy Gay
PF: Jason Thompson
C: Ryan Hollins
Grizzlies Starting Lineup:PG: Mike Conley
SG: Tony Allen
SF: Tayshaun Prince
PF: Zach Randolph
C: Marc Gasol
Keys To The Game:-Limit points in the paint. With Cousins out, it will be important to keep Gasol and Randolph in check to keep ourselves in the game.
-Get Mclemore going early. He notched a good game against Memphis in their last outing, scoring 17 points with 4 rebounds to go with that. If he can knock down some jumpers early, it will open things up for Rudy Gay.
-Total bench effort. We need the bench to be able to come in and be effective on both ends of the floor. It's looked really bad at times without Cousins on the floor and we'll need the bench to step up tonight, especially.
Never forget:

nice thread cody
if we don't lead by 20 point or more we will be fine
here hoping for a good ball movement and letting the game come to us and not rushing the offense

go kings

Going to be very rough without Cousins.

I can't believe injuries are diminishing our season like this, fourth game in a row, in a game where we can't afford any loss..
I want the Sessions issue in check. I think the majority of kings fans want him phased out, but If he's there I want him not detracting from the team

Looking more and more like Cousins is the key to this teams defense above anyone and everyone.

Hollins is working his butt off and woke up the building. Hopefully he woke up the team too.

I say it a lot with this team.. when you have the ball with 35 or more seconds, it's a two for one. Nik didn't have awareness on that

Sessions first play ridiculous shot.. No patience with this guy

OK, Sessions might be the coolest guy on earth but this has to stop. If he's not scoring he's not bringing a darn thing to a team, period. Even if McCallum doesn't get into the paint like Sessions at least he's not a huge liability defensively.

Was really hoping Nik would knock down that second opportunity.

He's a kid too that could be future.

Memphis could very well be the best team in the league right now. Not a lot of weaknesses on that team, since pretty much the only way they can lose is if they beat themselves, which they rarely do.

Good job getting the lead down to 16 before the half. We still have a fighting chance with a run to start the 2nd.
We just need to keep in safe distance and keep grinding. I want to see Malone's impact on the team in the 2nd half, and just see them fight and claw. Even if we lose, we can't lose by 20 no matter to which team and in what situation - it's all about effort.

It's shocking the hole that is left with Cousins isn't there. The Kings almost have zero options in the paint without him. This team desperately needs another front court player that can score....(Landry, you hearing this?)

Was that in any doubt up until now?
I'm banned from GB, but I've been preaching it in other public boards as much as I can - DeMarcus is playing like one of the best defensive centers in the league since the season started, and he passes both the eye test, and the stats test (advanced and regular) with flying colors.

when you don't have offensive strategy, and rely on your star player you get exposed when you lose him
this team has the talent to be competitive in games, but we have clueless coach

Btw until Nik doesn't learn how to drive and get himself to the line with success in the NBA, he'll never be the player we want him to become.
He needs to figure out a way to get himself closer looks at the basket. Even if it's not layups or dunks, he needs to develop a float, or a pull up game that is reliable, which in turn would open up his game and get him into rhythm so he won't feel so passive.
Right now it's either a wide open 3pter (Which he btw isn't always taking, he kinda fell inlove with the pump-fake lately on shots he just needs to knock-down), or an extremely contested long 2 with a defender up his grill, or just him dribbling the ball without creating anything to anyone and passing it as a last resort to someone else while killing the clock.

That's extremely harsh and unfair. I think Coach Malone is probably the last guy behind DeMarcus that us fans can come and complain about.
He has done a phenomenal job with just about the same roster from last year on both ends of the floor. That post is just disrespectful.

I mostly post on the PC Board and there are still several posters over there that doubt Cousins has become a very good defender capable of anchoring a defense.

I know injuries are a part of the game but the result of a loss would be more palatable to me if I believed we would have lost anyways full strength (if the score holds up). The Grizz have the best record for a reason I'm sure
