George Karl is named Kings head coach. Next day Ty Lawson requests a trade! Boom.

Well no **** that's not a serious trade. Take a chill pill. Should I have put it in green font for you?

That being said Lawson is pretty much a run of the mill average starting point guard. And lets be honest - Faried is an energy guy off the bench getting paid starter money - people will be considering him a terrible contract by this time next year. I wouldn't deal anything of value for either of them. If I'm any GM in the league I'm phoning up Denver and seeing if I can pull a heist for any of their players. If not I hang up and move on.

Do you guys think that the Kings have a shot at Ty Lawson this summer? I got a little feeling from reading the trade board that if we keep our pick, we do have a shot at him.

All we have to do is keep that pick. With 16 of our remaining 27 games being on the road and with Darren Collison and Boogie out, I think it just might happen.

Get ready, guys. This could be it. The final offseason.

I question how much of an upgrade Lawson is number 1, and number 2 how wasting resources to fix something that isn't broke makes any more sense than it did when we've seen moves made along the same path such as re-signing JT, signing Landry and Sessions, drafting Stauskas with Ben here. Sorry folks, if they go after Lawson it fits more into that group than not. I guess it would depend on what else happens but how many more moves need to be made where so much other stuff has to happen around it for it to make sense?

Forget that SacKingZZZ, it's not even worth going in depth about. Ty Lawson is not an elite point guard in the NBA.

Today was a good day for us on the Ty Lawson front. We lost, and a whole bunch of other bottom dwellers won, including Indiana against Cleveland!

I'm all for trading the pick for a veteran but if Cauley-Stien is on the board I'd strongly consider drafting him instead...
Lawson isn't the best pg in the league, and if you factor in salary DC and Lawson ' s difference in value is less than our 1st round pick. Even more alarming than that is Lawson ' s off-court issues. However, we can all see with acquiring Miller what a solid PG can do for bench production. Keeping DC and trading for Lawson would make the team better, especially if Landry is included in the trade. Overall tho I feel the team is better served trading the pick for a big.

The thought of Lawson and DC running the point does get me excited tho.

I'm having trouble seeing a Lawson trade work, been talking about it for a bit.

Denver would likely want more than we would want to pay.

Not only that, if he is the start of the blowup for them, they'd probably want considerable compensation for everyone.

If they want the moon for him then they may have a hard time getting what they desire. The problem with the PG spot is that too many consecutive drafts have produced good to great PG's. There just aren't too many teams that are that hard up for a star PG right now. All it takes is one team of course and I just hope that the Kings aren't that team at the expense of actually fixing the issues and filling the right holes.

I'm sort of cooling down on Ty Lawson. How is his defense? Is he the type of PG that would let Damian Lillard get 31 pts every night? I don't think Darren Collison would ever allow that.

We would surely have to give up our pick to get him, but I'm sure that pick could help our front court. I think Frank Kaminsky is the best available stretch four option for us (better than Ryan Anderson or Ersan Ilyasova) because he would move the ball way better than those two. Others may like Willie Cauley-Stein, who would help us with blocks and steals.

With a top 3 pick, we could clean up with Towns or Russell.

Lawson gets abused on Defense similar to IT. Tyreke Evans destroyed Lawson yesterday or the day before.
