I appreciate him as a legend of the team and think he is a great ambassador, but if he is VP of operations does he get a personnel say? and if so does he have previous experience?

As a Yugoslavian, is he our ticket to Hezonja?

He was running some Euro team if I recall correctly. That's when the rumblings started that he was looking into getting into the personnel side of things and would love to return to the NBA if the situation presented itself. This must have been a few years ago.

He has been running the Serbian Olympic committee for a long time and doing a great job at it.

Is Vlade's role defined?
I hear rumors of him taking over the basketball operations and pushing PDA out. Is Vlade qualified to be doing personnel? Lotta questions regarding his role coming up. I'm assuming PDA and his crew will still be doing personnel

I'm pretty sure Vlade's role is to get familiar with the team until Pete gets fired and then take over.
I don't like this front office's practice of hiring replacements before they fire somebody.
If they do want to fire Pete, I hope they do it long before the draft.

If he is coming in because they are looking to fire PDA, that was a quick hook for PDA. Vicek and co. really must be unhappy with his work so far (deserved or not). Also, I am skeptical of Vlade's personnel resume if that's the direction this is going, but I will trust in ownership

Mullin didn't get his wish for the Kings to be held hostage by him and suck the rest of the season with Corvin for him to take the reigns in the summer, so he bolts to coach St.Johns instead.
Two birds in one stone. Get the **** out, Chris - and don't ever come back.

I'm glad Mullin is gone he never seemed to bring value ton the table, from what I can tell. Vlade in, Mullin out. I like it.

If it is indeed the end for PDA I would say I had mixed feelings about his personnel job.
The very good - Rudy and DC. It's hard for me to give credit for the Rudy trade when there were rumors he was heavily pursuing Rondo/Smith/DWill - all of which might have been questionable. A part of me feels he just got lucky that the Rudy trade is the one that went through. DC was a good signing, but he was also rumored to have been pursuing Livingston (although DC was his first option I believe) and there weren't a ton of realistic options in the summer of 2014
Landry - I think this was influenced by Malone and others that previously worked with the Warriors.
Drafts - Ben was consensus. Ray was a good pick where he was selected. Nik - there was a positional need and others may have influenced decision
Omri was a good pick up, and I expect him to continue to be with the team
I'd say not bad/not exceptional

According to Marc Stein, Vlade is a king in more ways than one (from espn.com main page)-
KINGS ALTER POWER STRUCTURE
Vlade Divac has emerged as the new lead voice of the Kings' front office, according to ESPN's Marc Stein. Owner Vivek Ranadive regards the former 16-year vet as the team's top basketball official over GM Pete D'Alessandro.

No real problem with PDA and Mullin leaving, but I still have questions about Vlade's acumen for handling the personnel. Like the article said I'm assuming Vivek was convinced over speaking with Vlade over a large amount of time he could handle this position and that they will bring in additional help

I wonder if Vlade can convince Milos Teodosic to come stateside, would be an amazing fit in Sacramento.

One part of the article that made me go 'oh yeah' is the part that highlights Vivek has once again repeated his mistake of hiring a coach before his GM.
