No Rudy, Cousins, Collison (& Stauskas) and yet, we are ahead?

Jazz playing their bench too much
Vlade and the new FO has a huge decision with Ben this summer, the kid just doesn't put it all together to give the fans confidence with consistency

Ray hasn't been totally convincing over the stretch either. As of this moment are folks 100% on him being the back up next year? I like the kid and want better from him. I do think he has it in him but expected him to dominate a little more sans Collison

I never was sold on him. In college he was a 6' scorer who wasn't really quick and couldn't shoot. He was not a PG.

Yeah, I think he's proven enough to be a backup for sure. This summer will be important for him and if he has a summer like last year and they don't bury him on the bench and squander any momentum like the start of this year then he could springboard from that. He defends and moves without the ball. That's probably all this team really needs at backup PG. He can shoot better than he has and I think that will show next year when he's not so exhausted. Don't forget this is pretty much his rookie year right here, this is the first time he's gotten these kinds of minutes and it shows from game to game. I think he's going to develop into a very good role player with more experience. I think he's perfectly suited for the 15 or so backup minutes that would be coming to him. He can also probably play alongside DC because when they have played together they've been a pretty good combo.

And this has to be a tough adjustment but he's shown vast improvements relatively speaking. However, even those negatives are another reason why he fits with this team moving forward. He's shown ability and willingness to play off the ball and in particular off of Cousins. Those are the two key requirements for any player moving forward. He really needs to pattern his game after Derek Fisher. He is very similar in many ways early on in his career.

I'm impressed with Joe Ingles. He doesn't get a lot of opportunity to do much of anything but as a role player he does just about everything well. He spreads the floor, he sets good screens, he swings the ball quickly to the next man, and defensively he just takes whatever match up is there.

Sim is skilled. I watched plenty of him in college and people that think he's just a gimmick aren't giving him the credit he deserves.

Does BBIQ improve greatly? I don't question Ben's work rate or motor necessarily, but that is a question that needs to be answered by Vlade and FO. This kid is just straddling the line. I think the FO might think like me, if there is an option to get some veteran influence there this off season ok, but there are other needs that may or may not be paramount.. The starting lineup this year to start the year with Ben was good, if there was a consistent presence there would it be better and will there even be any consistent presences available this offseason within reach?

Nope. Miller
will be the backup. I think Ray is gone this offseason, probably as trade filler or to offload salary. He's a hundred times better than Jimmer, but has the same problems as him in that he's an undersized two guard. Lacks PG skills and SG size. He also struggles defensively against quick PGs, and often lacks the size to guard SGs. Utah totally had their way with him tonight. His ceiling isn't far off if he hasn't reached it already, which is too good to be a third string guard, but not quite good enough to be a second stringer.

If RMac becomes anywhere near like Mario Chalmers, I'm happy.
I think it is doable for RMac...as long as he works hard in the off season.

Ray's cheap, if it helps us in a trade ok....if it holds the fort down as the third guard deep ok.
Relatively meh to me.
