What happens to the Kings if this ia nother failed season?

If WCS busts, Ben Mclemore doesn't get any better, the free agent signings don't pan out and they get they get the 7th pick after that. Where does that put them in the future?

Is this a rhetorical question?

Okay let's pretend that everyone associated with the Kings fails at life...then what do they do? Irrelevant thread. Get out of here with that trash.

It's not if. They will continue their streak of 30 wins or less this season, no question. They would have to move to the East to make the playoffs in the next 5 years.

this is where I dont agree...

you have a top 15 player, a good second option, a solid defensive oriented rookie big man coming in, Mclemore developing...

IF they can secure the right players, and there are a few left who fit, they can contend for the playoffs.

Word. The Kings have been losers for years. We had a stretch of 7 or 8 seasons of great ball but lets not act like we've always won?

No way they can even think of the playoffs with this roster in the West. They would need close to 50 wins to get the last spot. The Kings should learn a lesson or two from the Warriors. Get a great coach & staff. Play defense & have a deep bench. Karl is likely gone & we are near the bottom in most def stats. We can't get any quality free agents even if we over pay them. If they could sign a guy like Aldridge then we can talk playoffs. So far we have signed one player & he didn't even play in the NBA last season.

I wouldn't over react.

The first part of the season proved, it's not the talent, it's the mindset. If they can get it into the right place mentally as a unit I'm not betting against the talent on the team.

You'd have to at least entertain a cousins trade ...maybe not in the summer but definitely at the trade deadline ...you need him to sell tickets to the new arena next year

I think it's already a failed off season. The Kings treat first round picks like they are garbage to be merely tossed away. Draft picks are gold and you only give it up for extreme value. Especially a team like the Kings that play in the tough west.

This is what should have happened:

Draft Winslow with the 6th pick. This team talks about wanting to play small ball then drafts a big....

Stretch Landry for additional cap space that the team clearly wanted.

Go after biyombo/koufos for the rim protection that was desired.

Listen to offers for steak sauce and jt to try and recoup a pick that may be lost; depending on how you finish, or bring in someone else. If no takers on jt, eat the contract.

that is out the window with the latest all in move. The team can't tank because philly is looking to swap if the team actually wins the lottery.

I don't think you can say it's a non possibility ...I mean if it turns into a doomsday scenario I think you have to be worried that your going to loose cousins for nothing

losing cousins for nothing won't be a thing. If the team decided to part ways you would be bring in a game of young talent. From there you would lose obviously in the short run.

That can't happen now because Philly will be looking to swap picks.

This was an all in move; if it doesn't work the franchise is set back 2 to three years.

If you trade cousins your theoretically doing it to get young talent and picks ..... If the Kings want to do that in the event this whole thing falls apart this season I think they explore that ....you can't just say Ohhh well there's no way we look at that as an option especially if next off season looks like this one

I think you need to re read my original post ... I'm not saying look to trade him this season I'm saying next trade deadline in 2017

These picks you are going to get more than likely won't be good picks. He would be going to a team that isn't likely to be a bottom feeder when he lands.

When you are forced into yet another rebuild you absolutely need your own picks.
