Caron Butler has agreed to a two year deal with Kings, league source tells Yahoo.

Thoughts?

He's an old man but still the 3pt shooting % is decent. 37% in 78 games last season. TS% is at .544, total win shares last year 2.4... Good locker room guy. Savy Vet. If it's at the minimum I like it.

@teamziller: Caron Butler has shot 38 percent on about 1,100 threes over the past five seasons. That's an NBA skill the Kings require!

We needed another 3, one who could shoot, which Caron can, but also one who could defend, which Caron probably cannot do at his age. He has the championship experience that Vlade likes, but...

Decent low key signing, especially if it's for the vet minimum. Adds more wing depth and another shooter.

Wonder what Carmichael Dave thinks about this breaking news?

Good size wing. Old but useful.

37.9% 3PT overall
48.0% 3PT on corners
40.9% on catch & shoot 3PT

Looks good to me!

He's still clueless

@CarmichaelDave: Dude. @WojYahooNBA JUST blocked me from reading his tweets. Out of nowhere. So there's that. http://twitter.com/CarmichaelDave/status/619588432533176320/photo/1

Surprised they signed him because he's not really the type of 3/4 athletic big I thought they wanted

@SynergySST: Of the 185 players that attempted over 200 jump shots in the half court last season, Caron Butler ranked 30th scoring 1.035 points per shot.

this screams pure lockeroom leadership at this point at Tough Juice ain't what he used to be. I was expecting D.Wright

Looks likely to me we wrap up Miller, fill out the roster with possibly Moreland and call it a day.

I thought he looked pretty good in Detroit last year so he should help as some shooting and experience off the bench.

I like it. He'll be the 10-11th man in the rotation and a good locker room presence. Can come in and knock down the outside shot when we need. Especially for the money, this is a solid deal.

Great signing. Vlade's playing days are being showcased right now. He knows what a locker room should consist of. Savvy veterans who can contribute and be instant leaders.

Exactly. Caron Butler has been through a lot, especially off the court. He'll be huge in the locker room.
