Half of the Pelicans' normal roster will be missing, so we should win this easily. Watch us not, though.

Ben being given the starting nod on a night most coaches like setting their rotation for the season (last preseason game). He's still young and has upside, but we need to see him being solid now

Ben 3-9 and had the worst -/+.. I really don't want a third season of this
There is apparently a lot of talk of how Cuz is being utilized under Karl, that may or may not give credence to some of this stuff this past summer. Hopefully this comes together
Rudy looks like an all star
The bench is outright one of the best in the league, will win us a lot of games
Overall 5-1 is good for preseason, but a lot of kinks to work out for that starting unit

Yeah, when I read another unspecified forum they are talking about how Cuz is being utilized on the perimeter too much. Shooting threes, and he has shot a sub optimal percentage all throughout the preseason. They are concerned that Karl, who may not be accustomed to post bigs, may or may not know how to handle him. Some on that forum complain that the offense is run too much through Rondo and not Cousins.
It's preseason though, hopefully all of that is sorted out. Cousins I thought played well under Karl late last season

I know Grant has been sharing on his radio show that Cousins is money from 3 in practice. I'd much rather see him do what he does best but I get in order to develop in-game range you gotta put up the shots. It will be interesting to see how that plays out.
As for the ball in Rondo's hands too much I counter with this stat from the one televised game: Rondo 10 assists and 0 turnovers, Cousins 1 assist and 4 turnovers. As good as Cuz is he still remains a turnover machine. The offense should run thru Cousins often but limiting Turnovers is valued.

Yeah, the article just posted by Jason Jones on the sacbee website makes me feel good. Karl understands that Cuz/Gay need better offense and still haven't put a lot of stuff in..
Really a good preseason overall, except Ben. He's just been a source of frustration since coming in the league, but you can't be strong everywhere I guess. Hopefully with the offense coming into form and his teammates finding him better gives him that better confidence. Karl will need to do a good job on that

He has spent camp installing the main team offense and defense and learning personal and how to use them together. As a smart coach he knows that DMC and Rudy have above avg skills so they can get theirs without focused effort in the playbook. They are the two guys he trust to go ISO if need be and be successful outside of the system. Pretty easy to see.
