According to Bill Herenda, Ben McLemore will not be in the starting lineup tonight.

I'd start Anderson to guard Bledsoe since Karl claims he's the teams best perimeter defender

Hopefully Ben not starting is a regular thing and not just a move to start Rondo/DC for this particular game. I don't want Ben handed minutes if he underperformes on the bench either, kid needs to earn what time he's given from ground up

I dont think Ben feeling entitled to minutes is an issue, nor is giving Ben minutes hurting his development. I get you want him to understand he's not performing well but I'm pretty sure he already knows.

If he hurts the team more than he helps it, or if he's the third best SG in a rotation that needs two SGs in a given game, and he's being given time, than he's entitled

Ben doesn't carry a sense of entitlement from what I see. Non issue.

Nobody is talking about what is going on in his mind, that is a non issue. I don't want him being given minutes if he doesn't earn them or isn't helping the team, that is being 'entitled'. He's no longer a rook, I want him held to the same standards as a normal vet earning time, personally

Ahh got ya.
He's still an asset that needs to develop. Sure he's not Vlade's pick so its easier to cast Ben aside, but big picture is Ben's failure to develop hurts the franchise. So, yes, Ben is "entitled" over James Anderson in my book. There are different ways of handling his development and I'm on board with sitting Ben for a while but I'm not going to treat him like a FA off the street on a 1 yr deal and leave him at the end of the bench all season, even if Ben does suck.

This could be a good thing. Maybe giving him the role Belli usually gets off the bench could put him in a more comfortable role.

Well is Ben dropping to the 2nd or 3rd SG? Who's starting?

Quick with the gun, which is fine, but he's not the scapegoat of our lack of effort woes last night.
Karl had to do something though IMO.

Depends on how much you think there is to develop by year three after two long years of minutes, and if that even matters. It does hurt as an depreciating asset, benching him, but he isn't helping his stock anyways and that comes after a veteran team with a competitive staff and ownership looking to compete

I think Ben's turnaround can be huge and happen fairly quick. IMO his biggest issues are confidence, passiveness, and IQ... All things mental. Now I've gone on record saying I don't see Ben reaching his ceiling but I think he can contribute to this team if he takes a step or two mentally.

What is wrong with the concept of earning minutes? If he's developing into something of substance surely he's able to impress in practice and work himself up from garbage minutes - rotation minutes - onward. I just think the whole allotting of minutes is reserved for rookies or second year guys or on teams without competing aspirations

I want to see Curry get some burn today. He looked pretty good last night, albeit in garbage time, and I think he should be put into the game in situations like last night where the team is flat to provide a little spark.

I'm actually intrigued by Rondo/Darren starting, the questions were always who was guarding the SG and who the bench would be

Due to family ties I see all the Suns games and besides Beldsoe we need to worry about letting Chandler become a bully with WCS and Moreland. He has been playing angry (I understand why) all year and can get you off your game if your not focused. Wemcan't let him and Morris get fired up.
Also Knight has been playing with purpose. Needless to say our back-court and transition defense will be tested tonight.

So, it's Collison/Rondo starting? Against the Suns it might work, but I really don't like Rondo and Collison combo out there together too much. That's been a big part of why this team has sucked so bad defensively. You can't trot out a 5'10" shooting guard in todays NBA and expect to be a decent defensive team let alone not be a huge heaping mess when all you can do well defensively is switch.

Looks like Collison, Rondo, Anderson, Rudy, WCS will be the starting unit.
I'd imagine that means Curry will see some time tonight.
