James Anderson Player Option?

Post#1 » by Smitty731 » Fri Apr 22, 2016 1:11 pm

Hey guys,

Anderson was supposed to make a decision on his Player Option on 4/20. I've looked all over and haven't found what he did. Have any of you heard?

Curry is due tomorrow. His situation is a little weird. He'd be a RFA if he declines. If he plays it out one more year, he'd be a UFA. Curious to see how he plays it.

I'm crossing my fingers he opted out but I haven't seen anything.

His bio on Twitter still says SG for Kings, so there is that...

Just looked around and nothing.

At 1.1 million I'd like him to stay personally.

James Anderson is a terrible, terrible player. Don't worry about what he does.

The quicker James Anderson is gone the better. The guy was awful no matter what amount of money he was making.

You guys have to consider how he was used. His defense at a million of a cap hit while sitting 10-12 on the roster is worth the option.

Doubtful he'd turn down the guaranteed payday.

I don't know, man. He was pretty terrible. Just plain horrible on the offensive end and I didn't think his defense was all that great, or enough to make up for his lack of any offensive ability. Even at a million, I'd rather have someone else at the minimum or give those minutes to Dukan or Moreland or someone like that.

He's a "safe" budget filler.

We've got lots of work to do roster wise. A guy capable of decent defense, a 3 you have to at least guard, for just 1.1 million holds the fort down.

Now depending on him is completely different than a deep option though.

No news so far but I doubt he'll use his option. The guy isn't NBA-level. That may sound harsh but the guy doesn't have anything of note to sing about. I mean, his defense isn't horrible but he sometimes fouls at the worst moments i.e. that foul on Kemba when the game is on the line was pretty bad. He was advertised as a 3PT threat but has been a zero at the area all of last season. Makes dumb desicions (probably due to inconsistent PT though). I think the guy is a good character but I think he should return to overseas if he is out of the league in the next year or two.

I just read he opted out Wednesday and is going overseas!

Thank you basketball gods for not subjecting me to another year of this guy!
