Welcome Buddy Hield!

Post#1 » by KF10 » Mon Feb 20, 2017 9:40 am

The Kings obtained Buddy Hield (& stuff) for DeMarcus Cousins.

I know a lot of you did not like the trade (I didn't either) but let's welcome Buddy and hope that he will become a nice player for us. And, hope that we finally found our long-term 2 guard for the future.

I can't sorry. I can't. But I wish him luck.
Celtics fan.
We also face the Kings twice in the near future. I think it's time Yabu pays back some of that free money he's been given his entire career and bounces Fox for a nice 2 week ankle sprain.

It was tough to find anyone high on Buddy predraft except notoriously inaccurate NBA fans and apparently the Kings front office

And hes really done nothing to suggest he will be a good player thus far in New Orleans.

This trade is almost unthinkable. I have a feeling his numbers are going to drop precipitously now that he doesnt have talent around him to get him open looks. Hes a bad ballhandler.

Found it interesting how Despite being a rookie he is the same age as Bradley Beal.

With that in context I really expected Buddy to put up bigger numbers.

Even older rookies take a year to acclimate. Most 19 year old rookies take year 3 or year 4 to make the jump, I'm betting hield takes that jump year 2. We will see what happens.

I liked before the draft Buddy I was on his wagon, but only thing that was holding me back about him was that he was already 22 or 23 years old.

I'm an OU fan, so happy to have Buddy on the kings, but I just think this was such a bad return for DMC. But who knows, maybe the league didn't value him due to personality concerns.

As I said before I was big fan of him coming in the draft, but because he was senior in college, it was holding me back.
Only senior players from last few years, which I can think of, who are doing really well in the league are CJ and Lillard.

But he really disappeared iirc in Final 4 last year, was shooting brick after brick.

Stauskas is a 3rd year with 200 games and 4300+ minutes under his belt. You would like to think he would be better than a rookie, no?

To Hield's credit, he is a MUCH, MUCH better shooter than Stauskas when compared to his first 2 years of his NBA career. Heck, if it wasn't for Hield's first month of bad shooting, he would have a higher 3PT% than Stauskas NOW. Look at my previous post above, Hield has been shooting the rock A LOT better since December. Stauskas has never matched Hield's shooting numbers yet -- when you compare him during this stretch of games.

I reckon that Hield is probably the best "shooting" guard that the Kings have acquired in a long-time.

You guys need to not crap all over the kid in the usual manner.
Let's give him a chance to develop and see what happens. We have him cheap for several years with out options if it is not working. The reality is we have had NO answer at shooting guard at all for a long time. At this point, it's open tryouts.

I wanted the Kings to draft him, but adding him to Cuz is one thing, this... is another.

And now the stockpile mess at PF the Kings had for years may have just moved to SG. For the first time in 10 years the Kings had some semblance of path, and some sense of order in roster. If Bogdanovic comes, where does he play? This is another issue where you have your two brightest building blocks at the same spot. Of course Bogdanovic should be able to play some PG and SF but still, you don't win with awesome depth at one spot.

Buddy I think puts up better fantasy numbers in Sacramento than NOLA , don't know if that makes the kings a better team.

Bogdanovic more SF/SG than PG.
