BYE BYE BENNY MAC

Kings have decided not to give him a qualifying offer making him an unrestricted free agent .

He will no longer be a KING .

No big surprise ...

Hopefully he finds a team looking for a hidden gem scorer. I think if he gets on a young team where he can put up 12 shots a game he'll make some GM a lot of money.

He has the skills and the drive, just lacking the feel for the game. That's hard to overcome. I think he can be a role player but nothing more.

Always liked Benny Mac, really wanted him to become a star. Watch him sign with Cleveland with the guy that believes in him, LeBron.

I liked him because of his athletic ability. I always believed if Ben lived up to his potential we'd have the Kings in the playoffs but we finally got our sharpshooter in Buddy so it's time to move on. End of an era.

I wish him the best and don't really hold his lack development against him. Just look at the org and changes he had to rely on from 2013-2016. Happy Trails...

I wish him well, but for all his athletic talents I think there is definitely still something missing there. It's something both visceral and intellectual when it comes to basketball. But I guess for every player that really 'gets it' when it comes to the game and how to play it right, there's got to be that one at the other end of the spectrum.

I was super high on McLemore back in 2013. So glad he got out from under Vivek's mess finally.

The instability was an issue no doubt, however McLemore couldn't even dribble when he showed up in Sac. Seriously.

And yet he was drafted #7.

And yet he was drafted #7.

And was projected as a 1-2 pick. He slipped to 7 as far as draft day opinions were concerned.

That doesn't make the org look any better seeing the deficits in his game. Just that the other teams before us made wiser choices.

IMO it's more on the lack of stable ground to stand on. You can disagree.

Maybe. Also if he turns into good 3rd-4th scoring option for a team, like I think he can be, I'll be happy for him.

I was only commenting on how he came in as a prospect vs how he was projected to be. Not a comment on the organization.
