Bjelica has been great. Might be the most underrated signing for any team. Also like what we're seeing from WCS. Already has good chemistry with Bjelica.
Giles clearly isn't ready for significant minutes but he's missed most of the last 3 years due to injury. More of a wild card than part of the core. Jackson has looked pretty bad. Could end up out of the rotation, especially when Bogdan is ready.

Jackson should be closer to 10- 15 mins than the almost 30 mins he's been playing due to not having a legit starting SF.jazanetti wrote:SactoKingsFan wrote:Nice win. This team is actually watchable and has some exciting stretches.

I'd prefer JJ against Shump. His defence is solid while shot selection is much better - no low effective long 2s. He struggles with 3s, but takes good shots, just give him some time.

Something is rotting in Minnesota , IDK what is it but Bjelica was so depressed after last season that he wanted to escape not only from there but to leave NBA completely. With Kings, Bjelica received a treatment which Vlade promised him and luckily Nemanja did not go back to Europe. During his time in MIN he did improve his 3pt shot but was just basically doing that and was excluded from having any significant ball possessions. Now Belly is showing that he is underrated defender and I am glad that SAC gave him a type of role where he can flourish. Really it was silly how "Timber-jacks" used him , he was often given hard task of guarding opponents big PF's who played like centers and on offense his role was heavily limited by the coaching staff. He was always getting the worst matches. Wiggins and Towns are still being forced there and it seems that their performance is more important than carrying out of the team. This will not reflect positively on two of them either. As I already said several times Nemanja isn't great at anything but is solid in everything which makes him good, glue guy good, not great but decisively good.

Did I read that first sentence right? HIeld has been fine
Hield has been scoring pretty damn efficiently this year. It's clear hes made a leap in every aspect but his ball handling play making. I'll wait till bogdan comes back to truly judge, we knew that wasnt his strength but hes being forced into it at times. Hell last night coach and he and shump playing 1/2 for a stretch.dckingsfan wrote:BoogieTime wrote:dckingsfan wrote:Neither Jackson or Hield have taken that jump we want them to take. I wanted to see a bigger jump from both of them. But there is time...
Just want to reiterate. BY FAR. What a steal he and Yogi have been.SacKingZZZ wrote:Popovich wrote:Before the season start SAC was projected as one of the worst teams in an entire league , yet SAC plays very well and you see that they, at least, should not fear from any team coming from the East. Heck yeah, what a save by Vlade. Bjelica is someone that might be changing the course of this teams future as that glue guy. What a great fit he is with this team. He's got all the skills checked, he plays hard, and he can carry them at times. Best FA signing from Vlade by far.

Jackson wasnt great last night but for the first time in his career I saw something I hadn't seen before. He played terrible the first 3 quarters and then had a pretty damn good 4th. Made some defensive plays, hit a nice 3. Usually if he starts bad he disappears, so hes trending in the right direction.

You're just expecting too much.
He will either end up as a decent bench player or if he pans out all the way then he's a 4th/5th starter. For him to truly succeed he's going to have to change his game a little. Less dribbling. More off-ball movement. If he plays like JJ Reddick he will have a long and productive career.

I would totally take a Redick comparison. Catch and shoot... Redick takes more than 1/2 his shots behind the 3 point line as should Hield. And Redick in his 20s was a much better defender.
Hield is taking 1/3 of his shots behind the line - way too many long 2s. And his D has definitely taken a step back. But this could be coaching on both ends. First, let him know that you don't want those long 2s. Second, take him out when he is winded and can't defend.
