IMO, it is a Meh/okay signing for the Blazers - it could help due to depth especially if you don't trust Collins in the post season. But Aminu, Leonard, Nurkic & Collins are a solid FC rotation. I think Kanter would have actually helped us more given that our defensive rebounding is much worse than the Blazers, no?

But Kanter is a poor defensive rebounder, especially for his size, age and skill. He is good to great on the offensive end tho.

We might have to disagree on that...

I really see two FAs worth going after.
Nikola Vucevic and Tobias Harris. I think that Harris seems very happy where he is. I think Vucevic would be awesome on this team and I think Vlade could make it happen.

I wouldn't be unhappy with DeAndre Jordan either :D

Yeah we will. I haven't watched really any of him on the Knicks. I just remember he was bad on the Thunder. Even with that stat though I think it can be deceiving. Its a percentage stat that can hid on the court play. But hey, if he has turned over a new leaf good for him. I know that Knicks fans weren't happy with his defense.

I didn't watch him much on the Thunder - maybe that is the disconnect.

I watched him a good deal on the Knicks and felt that he should have played more PF than C. I think pairing him up with a shot blocker and he isn't too bad. Or if he was on a bad defensive rebounding team (like Sacramento) he would be an asset (you can see he is ranked 12th on defensive rebounding percentage).

Like I said that stat could be deceptive but I think someone like him is needed on our squad. Maybe Vlade will find another big boned Euro that actually can stick around in the second round.

I meant they already have to pay the aforementioned, which will be hard as is to pay all that depth. Adding other contracts doesn’t sound feasible in keeping what you have

We seem to be getting some hype from basketball fans and the media this year.

But, interestingly enough.

We are last in attendance avg on the road this year.

Interesting

DOes that mean the Bagley/AD pontification is back on if he’d consider re signing (29 other teams)? KP was a hell no with injury/contract concerns and being less of a player. Pelicans may not get a better chip if Marvin shows the improvement he has. No one is moving Zion or a better chip IMO. AD would have to say he’d re-sign for sure

He looks beaten down though

I doubt a package featuring Bagley would be enough to get AD. Pelicans are probably holding out for Tatum + other prospects and picks.

I questioned it the first time I read it too. The guy from sportingnews claims he has it on tape... So I posted it

Seriously...the ASG was fun but I was thinking to myself I'd 100% rather be watching a Kings game.

Also regarding the off-season, even if Barnes opts in we will have money to throw at Vuc. He's easily the best option for us in terms of available centers. One would expect Orlando to move on from Vuc since they drafted Bamba but its hard considering the Magic seem to do things without a rhyme or reason.

Ideally we sign Barnes and Vuc to long-term deals and then set ourselves up to have a mid-level exception (or whatever they call it in this iteration of the CBA) for 2020.

I think Orlando will be aggressive in trying to bring back Vuc. With Bamba having the stress fracture in his leg and not looking NBA ready physically I can see them bringing Vuc back on like a 3 year deal until Bamba is ready.

Well, that sums up the way modern players feels about the fans and the level of importance they put on making fans happy compared to them being happy. For the record, I agree with the thought. The execution is tone def though.

At this rate players are going to give a speech on draft night about how much they love the city that drafted them but that now its time to move on.

Call me crazy but I would never trade Bagley for AD. Even if AD agreed to resign. Dude is straight Charmin.

Return to Sacramento Kings
