Fanbase Rookie Approval Rating: Marvin Bagley

Post#1 » by EvanZ » Sun Dec 9, 2018 5:26 pm

Hey so I'm embarking on a litte project to compile fanbase approval ratings for the rookies your team drafted (or traded for on Draft night). Very simple poll like a Presidential approval. Use whatever subjective or objective criteria you feel is necessary to decide.
I was right about 3 point shooting. I expect to be right about Tacko Fall. Some coach will figure out how to use Tacko Fall. This movement towards undersized centers will sweep ng back. Back to the basket scorers will return to the NBA.

I approve. I don't think the Kings could have gone wrong with where they were. Ayton, Doncic, or Bagley are all nice gets for a team that shouldn't have been in the position to nab any one of them.

Preferred Doncic at the time, but Bagley could allow us to to trade WCS and thus might be better in the long run.

Always had Doncic #1 during the last draft season and he is still my #1.

That being said, Bagley is raw as hell but still putting up solid numbers. I think he has really good potential. His fit with Fox, Bogdan & Hield is excellent. You can argue Doncic may have taken the ball away from Fox & Bogdan but all of this is speculation. Who knows.

Doncic is obviously the best player in the draft but Bagley isn't some bum either.

I approve but if I had another attempt of this draft, I take Doncic.

Surprised at poll

At this point the pick will relieve Vlade of his services. Not only could Luka be a generational type, but I’d have Bagley below the likes of JJJ/Carter

I said yes but there should be a @with qualification” spot.
Obviously I wanted Luka and I would still take him 100 out of 100 times over Marvin.
I do believe that Marvin is also a special player. The problem is that bigs that are special in the current mode are actually becoming more and more common. But players with the “it” that Luka has only come along once in a while.
He makes EVERYONE around him better.

I think that qualifies as a disapprove man

My answer changes depending on which specific question you're asking (the poll question is different from the post question).

Do I approve of the pick? Still no. Fox and Luka could have been an incredible combination.

Do I approve of Bagley as a rookie and a future piece worth holding onto and investing resources in? Absolutely. He'll still be very, very good.

I like him a lot. You can tell by watching him play that he has the potential to do many things very well, not just a lob catching rim runnber big like willie but a guy that can stretch the floor, block shots, pick and roll, finish at the rim, isolate 1 on 1 and hustle as hard as anyone. He's super raw and young but he has the potential to be an Anthony Davis type player if he has the will to improve.

Not sure.

Went from being really disappointed, to unsure.
