Tobias Harris

Post#1 » by City of Trees » Fri Jun 21, 2019 3:50 pm

There were reports back from April or May stating the Kings would aggressively pursue Tobias Harris in free agency. Some fans/radio hosts/writers won't even consider him a possibility given Sacramento's history in free agency. Personally I believe we have a shot at signing him because he aligns so well with out core.

Here is a clip of what Tobias is looking for in his next team

TBH if he even gives us a meeting ill be happy.

I think our best chance at signing him would be if the Nets sign both KD/Irving. If neither of those guys go there, I think he heads to Brooklyn to play with Russell considering the also fit that style.

If we somehow come out of this offseason with Barnes & Tobias ill be very happy. I know from a defensive stand point its not our best option, but from a fit its absolutely perfect. Fox driving to the paint, Bagley on the inside, Buddy/Barnes/Bobias lol all stroking 3s.

Are you saying we get his bestie Boban too?

I think Tobias stays put in Philly, he'll probably have meetings with a few teams but will ultimately re-sign in Philly in my opinion. I'm not so sure I would love the fit here either as a 4th option in the offense behind Buddy/Bagley/Fox. Do you play him at the 3 or at the 4 with Bagley at the 5 is another question to consider.

Bobias - Tobias. But when you join the Kings you get a B by default. Now that you mention it we have room for Boban as well lol

This is what he just recently said:

“We were a couple bounces away from going to overtime versus the champs now," Harris said, via Forbes. "We didn’t have enough time to really get the full chemistry as we probably would have wanted to. But at the same time, it’s one of the most talented groups of players I’ve been a part of."

Embiid: “You gonna stay in Philly?”

Harris: “My guy right here.”

"He’s the best big man in the NBA," Harris said of Embiid. "So the talent level of the group was phenomenal and we put ourselves in the position to win basketball games."

Asked once again what matters most to him, Harris said a lot of things that align with what the Sixers have to offer.

“A great organization," Harris said. "Obviously winning’s important for me, star players are important, and just putting myself in the right opportunity to continue to improve my game and get better year in and year out."

“Location is location," he said, "but at the same time those things are presently first for me.”

To be fair, I think he actually would be our 1b option.

Buddy is my favorite player in the NBA, but to go anywhere he should be our 3rd option. I think theres room for all 4 of those guys to score. I think we lacked another go to scorer last year, we need to use Buddy more like how GS uses Klay. Still has plenty of opportunities and some nights he can drop 35 but ultimately we rely less on him to allow us to win.

Some stretches with Buddy off the court it was like we couldn't score. Plus I love how Philly used those 4 in the regular season. They would stagger their minutes so there was usually at least 2 on the court at any given time.

I hear you, I just think Buddy's game is going to explode this year under Walton. It wouldn't surprise me if he breaks out as a 23-25 PPG scorer, and then you have Bagley who you're going to want to give 14-15 shots a night and I think Fox will be around 18 PPG again so it's just a matter of shots, there's only so many to go around. I could see Fox taking a backseat as a scoring option and doing a lot more facilitating and moving the ball around though.

I like Tobias and I think he'd be an okay option here, I just don't know that he'll be worth the money we'd need to throw at him.

I would love to add Harris, assuming we keep Barnes too. I have been a big proponent of let Bagley play C and have some switchable forwards in Barnes and free agent x (Harris, Thad Young, etc). So, I would love for this to happen.

Why do we as Kings fans think so small. Vucevic, Harris and Middleton are improvements that could get you to the playoffs for sure maybe further depending on how good Bagley is.... btw everyone thinks Harris is a power forward he is more of a small forward in a power forwards body.. he can play the SF with Bagley at the PF .. they have enough cap space if they leave the Harrison Barnes thing alone to get both Vucevic at around 4 years 164 million and also Harris 4 years 164 max contracts that would improve your team and make you a contender in the west( PG Fox, SG Heild, SF Harris, PF Bagley C Vucevic) .. its not time to sit and wait until next year .. they have a great opportunity now and they need to do whatever they can to get it done .. Cauley Stein you let go or offer the qualifying offer just to make sure you can get something in return for him in a sign and trade.

Man why are you copy and pasting this to every thread?

Be original. You made this point. Come up with something fresh on other threads.
