I like it, if he still has gas left in the tank.

That’s a bad move, he was done last year

In VladFather fashion, 2nd year is partially guaranteed per Amick

Good work to the FO. Like this for practically 1 year.

Ariza looked washed up with Suns and Wizards. At least second year is just partial guaranteed.

Seems a lot for Ariza, but the bench looks a whole lot better than last year

That’s who he played for last year, and IMO not well.
This seems akin to bringing vets in a la two years ago for vet leadership etc
But 27 mil or whatever was a chunk of change to still do damage in FA

Ariza was moved to Wizards last season after it wasn't working out with Suns

Both horrible situations not ideal for an older Ariza to thrive in.
His athleticism is on the decline but I think he can find a way to be a productive bench contributor.

Ariza put up 14/5/4 on 30% from 3 with a PER of 13 in his time with Washington last season. That's a perfectly fine backup SF.

I don't know how much I'd read into Ariza's play with the Suns and Wiz. Both are really struggling organizations without clear motivation for a veteran. But he is 34 today so we'll see what he can contribute. At least its as a reserve wing that can play 3 when we inevitably play small ball with Barnes at the 4.

Nothing really worked out for the Suns last year so I won't hold that against him. That's a no-win situation.

I don’t see that the three moves the Kings have made changes things at this point. Sorry to be negative. Utah got better today, the Lakers will be better, we were 9 games behind the Spurs for the 8 seed. Clippers more than possibly get Kawhi. How do we make the playoffs by resigning Barnes, replacing Cauley-Stein with a very similar level center Dedmon ( only real difference is 3 pt and ft shooting) and a old fading Trevor Ariza. I just have to be honest I don’t see the improvement from the moves. It all hinges on the younger guys Fox, Heild, Bagley getting way better.

Dang. I missed that.
Yeah that seems exactly what it is and I think a guy like Ariza can give us 15-20 solid mins a game and fill in in case of injury.

And the players we brought in will make them better.
