This is going to be so interesting. Marvin is listed as probable, but I hope he actually plays. If he does play, I’m so curious how Walton reintroduces him. Does he start? If so, who’s spot does he take? Both Bjelica and Holmes have been great in his absence. I would love to see Bagley come off the bench. That could really give him a confidence boost in his first game if he is plays well against their 2nd unit.

We are better with Bjelica + Holmes getting most of the minutes. Hopefully Bagley can get his without screwing things up.

Bad offense. Hield has been peak and valley all year. Bogdan is now once again in a possibly injured stretch of not doing well. CoJo back to not being contributory on O. Barnes off as well.

Might have to tune out for the second half with that

Looks like the team came back from a Texas road trip with two big wins. I’m sure they understand how big this game is for the standings! Come on fellas!

These are the games I’d like to see Harrison be the stabilizing offensive force. They’ve got a small on him but they’re help side has been good

I remember Richaun Holmes was just the late 2nd round pick who was standing next to Jahlil Okafor and looking totally shocked during that press conference when Okafor dropped his jersey. Now Okafor is a scrub and Richaun is a star. Well deserved.

Not sure how we won that one, but this team plays with a lot of heart

Never sit Richaun Holmes for anyone on this roster. ANYONE.

Richaun is the season MVP thus far...and its not even close.

Bagley's return was as expected. Totally out of sync, late reactions, lapses on defense... Basically issues you'd expect from a guy who hasn't played all season. His PnR defense was horrid and I lost count how many times he lost his man on D.

Tighten it up Marv.

The good stuff: Bagley is still super talented who is probably due for a 30 point game before the New Year.

Oh he can still rebound. "TWO HANDS"

As I seen the result I watched the 1st and quickly went to the last. Another clutch finish. This squad is the most clutch in the NBA. Wait until they are healthy together with Fox running the ball down their throats (won’t happen until he can prove to run a team though).
Decent game with moments from everyone without being spectacular, except for 1 man. R. HOLMES!

His defense does need to improve. I don’t want to see layups in the half court with him (rim protection).

He’s far from proving Richauns role needs to be altered for him, at any point (not to say he can’t get there as he has a lot of natural talent).

I hope eventually that Walton gives Bagley/Holmes a chance together. There's not enough minutes at the center spot for both of them. Even if its not the ideal fit, they are both too talented to not play together. If the Pacers can make Sabonis/Turner work, and the jazz could make Favors/Gobert work, we can make this work.

I think both of those teams would argue they ultimately haven't been able to make it work.

Interesting.

Jazz last 3 years - 51 wins, 48, 50. Made the 2nd round twice.

Bagley is also far more talented offensively than either Favors or Gobert.

Indiana is 16-9 missing their best player.

I'm not arguing that they need to share the court all the time. We should absolutely always have 1 of them in. So if Holmes plays 30 mpg, Bagley is playing the 18 minutes hes out. And then they share the court for 12-16mpg.

Utah just moved on from Favors after years of just not quite being able to make the offense work well enough with him and Gobert sharing the floor. It was good enough for them to be a good team, but I think they saw it lowered their ceiling.

And Indiana tried pretty publicly to move Sabonis before the season, and now their fans are all over the trade board talking Turner trades.

Indiana is an interesting case because offensively, that should theoretically work, if you just stick Turner behind the 3 point line.

You are right that Bagley's offensive talent should help, and I do think he's at least quick enough to stick with most modern PFs. But he's really not a good passer yet, which makes a lane crowded with Holmes' man all the more problematic.

I mean look, it's hard to foresee a scenario where we move either in the near future. Holmes has been too good, and Bagley too big of an investment. I do look forward to the potential scenario of having one of them on the floor for all 48 minutes, but that probably leaves around 8 minutes a game where they'll have to share the floor. I think we can make it work okay enough for now. I just think long term, as with the other two big man duos, eventually something will have to give.
