Any candidates in particular that people are hoping for? What would be your first move if you were hired as GM and do you think they will keep Walton around after next season?

Don't know much about any of these guys as a GM.
That said the initial list I would be most interested in -
Heat Assistant GM Adam Simon
Rockets Assistant GM Monte Mcnair
Anyone whose had a chance to learn from Riley, has a leg up to me.
From what i've seen on Monte, he heads up the analytics department and is trusted by Morey. Another positive.

Sachin Gupta is another guy who worked for Morey and then also worked for HInkie, apparently he was the one who negotiated Philly's side of the trade with Vlade. He also created the Trade Machine so he would be an interesting look too.
Out of the six candidates we've hired, I'm on the Adam Simon bandwagon too though. Miami is the type of franchise we should be looking to emulate in the way that they develop talent. Finding and developing guys is a big part of what has kept them a competitive team post-Lebron.

Gupta or Simon. For the reasons stated above. But, really, anyone not named Scott Perry.

I hope we don’t have to overcompensate to bring the GM in predraft

Looks like it’s GUpta, who followed various members of the Kings/sac media. Chris Kelly, minority owner, I heard followed him.
With Simon gone, and Langdon and pretty boy Calvin Booth dropping out as well
Working for Minnesota, who is drafting ahead of us, there shouldn’t be overcompensation for him. If indeed he takes the same approach to building as Hinkie, this should be a total rebuild. Might be more apt to draft Poku, as a hit or miss prospect, instead of a more stable/average option

According to Woj, Wilcox and McNair are traveling to Sacramento for second interviews as well. Guess it isn’t over yet

Booth also interviewed for the job today, but I also saw that Booth might drop out? So I'm not sure. With him, it looks like it's between Gupta, Booth, Wilcox, and McNair.

If Booth wants the job, I give it to him. He has playing experience and would do scouting reports as a player, they have a great track record drafting in Denver (though not sure how much was him), and he wasn't afraid to start as an intern to work his way up from the bottom after his playing career. Gupta would be my second followed by McNair and Wilcox. But whoever it is, I hope that Forde is the one making the decision and not Vivek.

I would be very okay with this. Sounds like it would be a solid front office set up.

Definitely agree.
On another note, Dave also tweeted that Vivek, Dumars, and Vivek's son were in the interview process. I don't understand this. First Dumars is in the interview process, then he's out, now he's back in again. And Vivek's son? I won't pretend to know anything about him but dear lord...

Maybe I'm just a dumb fan but wouldn't the Head of Basketball Ops want to hire their own GM? Conduct his own GM search?
