Bagley starting tonight? I thought we were beyond that. I was expecting Fox/Hali/Hield/Barnes/Holmes and going small.

Mitchell/Hali ready to go now. You know how I feel on the Fox/Simmons front

Didn't want the game. 15/5, how did he look?

Im out of the country so I was on game cast/twitter/forums

I think the issue with Bagley IMO is BBIQ is innate. I don't have the fact that he's in the wrong place at the wrong time on O and D as really fixable with time and reps

I heard he struggled on D again last night

I heard Luke is trying different lineups, but it would surprise me if Marvin is the starter

I've pretty much given up on him ever being a full time starter. I think (best case) his future is as a 6th man scoring big. His defense will never be good enough to stack up against starters.

I'm in on Metu being the starting PF. He brings energy, toughness, shooting.

Holmes/Len or Thompson
Metu/Bagley
Barnes/Buddy
Hali/Davis
Fox/Mitchell

I think we have plenty of offense in the starting lineup. Metu adds some size. This bench is potent with Bagley/Buddy/Davis outscoring most opposing benches, and Mitchell/Len there for defensive purposes.

Fox was doing some things last night

Even though I have supported the Fox/Simmons switch, there is certainly a world which Fox continues his offensive progression and eventually digs in defensively to become one of the leagues best PGs.

I can see why McNair would be reticent of the move. Being a GM isnt like being a fan on RealGM where you can just readily come up with and agree to trades. Being beholden to your bosses and an entire teams fanbase, you triple think your next move and you are afraid of making the wrong move, hence why trades of similarly talented/valued players rarely take place.

Hope we see a lineup starting fox/hali/mitchell one of these preseason games

Fox/Haliburton/Barnes/Harkless/Holmes starting, which may be the starting lineup on opening night

I've been thinking the offensively anemic Harkless has been well washed up, and Fox/Hali/Hield/Barnes/Holmes was actually a top ranked 5 last year, but I guess the thinking is we need defense at guard/SF in some fashion

The bench looks strong. Harkless looked surprisingly crisp. I haven't enjoyed Fox/Haliburton's preseason (Fox's shooting...), lets hope they turn things around in the regular season

This actually looks much more like a typical modern starting lineup in the NBA. You have four of your top five primary offensive weapons and a glue guy who does the dirty work but is not at all a black hole or a blank on offense.

It’s also very switchable/versatile for coverage in defense since it is a bit smaller lineup. It allows you to utilize speed anytime there is an opportunity yet still have solid shooting to allow for the penetrators to be effective. And you do have a great roll man in Holmes if you have to set in the half court and play traditionally.

The. Going to your bench, the options and lineups become incredibly flexible.

I’m predicting without any serious long term injury issues and no long losing steaks that it’s a 41 - 45 win season. Ceiling could actually be fifty but that would depend on how other teams do and what sort of key injuries occur.

Floor is hard to say. There is a lot more depth and several guys capable of stepping up to an increased and key role. The very fact that defense is being stressed raises that by itself.

also learning in the fly to close out the close games will be the single most key factor that ends up deciding final standing.

I'm predicting 42 wins for the year but that is the optimistic end of my prediction range. I think we will be anywhere from 36-42, I just don't think we have enough top end talent in the West to get to 50, we've still got some growing to do until we can get there in my opinion.

I'm thinking 38-40

With the added depth I'm expecting to battle for the play in til the last remaining games if we dont make it.

We still have to grow

if everyone stays healthy at least 44 wins

Our coach sucks, our forward depth is awful.

I expect growth from the team in terms of being competitive defensively (Christie/Mitchell effect) but I still expect 33-38 wins.

I just don't know how we can expect anymore with Walton coaching, and Harkless/Barnes/Metu as our 3/4 rotation.

I would love to see them use Bagley/Tristan/1sts at some point early in the season to upgrade our forward spot. It just seems like the teams that are tanking don't really have a 3/4 for sale that fits the description. Only Jerami Grant, who I still would love to go get.

Like the small ball line up, not sure if this works for 82 games though. With a better coach, I would go for a winning record this year, but with Walton, I see 36-39 wins. Good start will help plus resolving the Bagley issue.

Fox has played himself off Simmons value so far this season, unfortunately for me
