Training Camp begins
Lots of yelling going on. Can the fans hear it?

Re: Training Camp begins
The energy seems to be different around the group this year, everyone seems excited and ready to get to work. No Buddy and Bagley this year to bring down the mood seems to be making a big difference. I think we're going to see a motivated Fox go to work this year, I'm excited to see the dynamic between him and Sabonis.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to this season. The coaching change can't be overstated. Luke/old Gentry couldn't coach. The talent pool is the best its been.

Bazemore looked gassed during the workout ABC I think it was had. Hopefully he works himself into better shape, but I guess he is getting old.

He was really inconsistent last year with the Lakers. Sometimes he had an on night, most times not, on either end of the floor. He does bring a veteran voice, though. He shot .363 from three, but for some reason, only .271 for two-pointers. I do not recall seeing anyone miss so many bunnies in my life.

That's all good. He and Delly don't "need" to be in shape. They know why they're here. They will hustle on the dog days of practice and be good vet teachers preaching the Mike Brown gospel.
This is part of why what the Kings, and coach Brown have done really well so far. I don't think they've put a foot wrong. What it comes down to though is if Fox starts the first 10 games like his last 10 games of 21-22, he will be an All-Star and the Kings will shock some people.

This can't be understated. Like x1000. It was clear Fox didn't want to play with these two anymore. He clearly wasn't the only one (think Hali was also in this group but is too much of a happy go lucky dude). Either Fox or both of these guys needed to go. We know which way it went.
I will keep saying, Fox didn't care AT ALL last year because Bagley and Buddy were on the team. He had enough of them and that is the reason he sat out with his foot for so long. Not saying he didn't have an injury, just it was clear he gave the FO an ultimatum.

Eh, thats putting a lot of Bagley and Buddy being on the team. That Fox would quit playing because of it. Especially when there has been no word of ill will between him and them. Regardless, it shouldn't affect Fox to such a level.
I'm still a bit concerned with Fox, but I'd sooner suggest the fit with Haliburton, and lack of talent and coaching uninspired him.

Oh yes I agree there were other factors, absolutely. And it's not to completely absolve Fox of any fault. But it was clear for two seasons he didn't want Bagley and Buddy on the team and it got to the point where he was tired of no action.
The fit with Hali was a thing, but in comparison, you could tell they had/have a good relationship.
One thing is clear going into this new season, it's make or break for Fox. No excuses, nothing holding him back. If he does similar things as early last season then yes, I agree about your concerns, well to be honest if it's the same I think it validates your concerns more than anything.

Probably has more to do with putting size and defense next to Sabonis to start

I think tonight's game will be on NBA TV
The pre season TV stuff normally stinks, hopefully it is broadcasted.

Re: Training Camp begins
I am looking forward to the game tonight--10:30 here on the East Coast. It will be interesting to see which team is more dysfunctional. Last year, the Lakers lost all five preseason games and LeBron James basically said it did not matter in the least. Yeah, well, we know better now. I expect the Kings to look pretty sharp with the starters but not with the backups.

I think Keegan will eventually win that spot but if Okpala plays well enough to justify that spot then it just means we're that much more dangerous bringing Davion-Monk-Keegan-Holmes off the bench.

Re: Training Camp begins
Huerter is solid, defense has been fine so far. Okpala is lively.
