Hey respect to y'all. This was a good L on our side. Against a good team who plays hard (sounds familiar).

Monday update. Changing the target from 45 to 47 wins and adding Memphis since they are now technically behind us in the standings. Removing Portland since they mathematically cannot reach 47 wins.

codydaze wrote:Sacramento needs to go 7-9 (.438) the rest of the way to finish with 47 wins. For the teams below us, 5 need to jump us for us to not finish top 6. To match 47 wins they would need to finish:

Memphis 7-9 (.438) [2-2] (would need to go 8-8 as we have the tiebreaker.
Phoenix 10-5 (.667) [1-2]
Clippers 11-4 (.733) [3-1]
Warriors 12-4 (.750) [1-2]

-PLAY IN (7/8)-
Wolves 13-1 (.929) [1-2]
Dallas 13-1 (.929) [1-1]
-PLAY IN (9/10)-
Jazz.......14-0 (1.000) [2-0]
Thunder...14-0 (1.000) [3-0]

Lakers.....14-3 (.824) [3-1]
Pelicans..14-0 (1.000) [1-1]

In my hypothetical I had us losing 4 to Boston, Milwaukee, Phx(2). And I really thought NY was going to be a loss also. Grabbing 2 of those already is hugeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Going to be at the Milwaukee game tonight. Lets hope we LTB!!!

Kessler Edwards has taken advantage of his minutes. I didn't realize he's now the youngest player on the squad. Kings could really benefit to develop and mold him.

Boy was I wrong about this kid. He has quickly become one of my favorites. Just what the doctor ordered for Sac. Hustle guy, can defend, capable 3pt shooter, plays multiple positions. With Lyles/Monk playing so well, Mitchell having a decent stretch and the emergence of Edwards our bench feels like its become a strength. Obviously it's streaky but that's been really helpful for us.

Huerter is day to day. Kings dodge a bullet! I thought for sure it was our turn to have someone go down.

Only 3 behind the Nuggets in the L column at the moment. Need to keep momentum and improving something each game.

Something is really wrong in Denver, and they have a tough schedule. So do the Kings, but right now we can beat anyone. The last game of the season may actually mean something. Crazy

Yeah, there's part of me that wants that to be a night off for Domas/Fox, but if a spot is important obviously you need to take it.

Time for the Monday update. Kings keep rolling but I am going to keep the target number at 47 wins. Will also keep including the Play In race since that has implications of a first round matchup for us but I will set the target win number to 43 wins for those teams since they cannot mathematically reach 47 wins.

Memphis 4-8 (.333) [2-2] (would need to go 5-7 as we have the tiebreaker.)
Phoenix 9-2 (.818) [1-2]

Dallas 11-0 (.929) [1-1]

-PLAY IN (7/8)- 43 Wins
Warriors 7-3 (.700) [1-2]
Thunder 8-3 (.727) [3-0]

Wolves 8-2 (.800) [1-2]
Lakers 8-2 (.800) [3-1]

Jazz 9-3 (.750) [2-0]
Pelicans 9-2 (.818) [1-1]

We have a real path to 50 wins this season if we keep playing the way we are.

We have three games against San Antonio, Boston and Denver. Ideally we grab two wins here even though the Boston and Denver games are going to be tough.

We have four games total against Utah and Portland. We need to grab three wins here.

If we handle business and get those five wins, we only need to grab two more in the remaining games against Phoenix, Golden State, Minnesota, Dallas and New Orleans.

The assets of this team are

1a/1b - Sabonis/Brown

.......

3. Fox

Finally we have a coach that gets the most out of the talent, after years of the opposite (scrub coaches not matching the teams talent on paper). With Brown I think we will be competitive even if we have to start with a new roster. He is A+

It is Monday update time. We are a win against Minnesota tonight away from officially clinching the playoffs! Phoenix is also the only team below us in the standings that can get to our target win total of 47 wins so we only need three more to clinch the third seed. I'll set our target as 48 and the teams below us in the top 6 to 45. The play in target will remain at 43 wins.

Remember, bolded teams are ones in which we own the tiebreaker against. We still have the opportunity to own the tiebreaker against every team in the West (even the Nuggets!).

codydaze wrote:Sacramento needs to go 3-5 (.375) the rest of the way to finish with 48 wins and clinch a top three seed.

Memphis 1-7 (.125) [2-2] (we would clinch the two seed with this record since we have the tiebreaker)

(45 wins)
Phoenix 6-2 (.750) [2-2]
Clippers 6-1 (.857) [3-1]
Warriors 6-0 (1.000) [1-2]

-PLAY IN (7/8)- 43 Wins
Wolves 5-2 (.714) [1-2]
Pelicans 6-2 (.750) [1-1]

-PLAY IN (9/10)-
Lakers 6-1 (.857) [3-1]
Thunder 6-1 (.857) [3-0]

-LOTTO-
Dallas 7-0 (1.000) [1-1]
Jazz 8-0 (1.000) [3-1]

Return to Sacramento Kings
