Game 14 Thread - Kings (7-6) vs Spurs (6-9)

Post#1 » by codydaze » Fri Nov 18, 2022 12:35 am

Let's stay above .500! Realistically, this is a game we should win if we're serious about making the playoffs.

Things I'm looking for tonight:
1. Next man up. Looks like Keegan will be out with the back injury he left last game with. It luckily doesn't sound too serious but we will need someone to step up and fill that starting spot tonight. This team is deep and we can have a big night from anyone so we'll see who steps up.

2. The battle inside. Jakob Poeltl is a talented big that has the potential to give Sabonis some fits on the block. He's been rolling lately so this will be a good sign if he can dominate again tonight.

3. Star Fox. He didn't really need to put up big numbers in the Nets game with it being such a balanced attack and Terence Davis having a huge night. I'd like to see Fox show everyone tonight why he deserves his first all star appearance this year.

Good start to the game, up 37-28 after the first quarter. We need to bury them now, don't even let this get close.

Too soon, perhaps. Third quarter would be the time to put a stamp on the game. Teams like to come out rolling after halftime.

Monk has really been making his drives count tonight, then finally gets a three to fall. Overall, the team is shooting 55%.

Barnes doing things to keep us in this, and we need the second unit in this second half

Fox is just so good. Playing sloppy and flirting with a tie game until he comes in and settles us down to push the lead back up to 7 going into the fourth.

Davion not gonna get a lot of love with only 6 pts and 4 assists, but his defense in the 2nd half was huge.

Fox and Monk lead the Kings in scoring (28 and 26).

Props to Davion for shifting momentum with his defensive pressure.

That was a great example of why this team is different. Feels like in years past we blow that early lead and it continues to spiral. Sabonis was struggling going against a big body, Huerter shot wasn't falling, Murray out. Instead Monk steps up and carries the offense, Lyles has some terrific play, Davion steps up with the defense, and Fox is Fox.

I usually lose hope by Halloween, it's almost Thanksgiving boys!
