Once again, Brown sees nothing injury wise going on with Fox, and attributing his play to a two week bug is letting his inherent inconsistency off the hook IMO

I think we need to dial down expectations for him, in terms of expecting his post Hali career up to these last 7 games to be the new norm. He works with a different motor than the elites of the game, which is always going to hamper him to a degree, we just need him to be pointed consistently in the right direction of impacting the season. 7 games is too much of a lull, and this went on in previous seasons with him spearheading some 9 game doldrums. At least now according to Brown we are seeing better defense during his down games, which is a start*. In his second season with Joerger, he might have a low impact game every third game. Really, if the rest of the team improves, maybe we just need Fox to be a good role player. But, again, Brown is going to have somewhat of a job to put Fox in a space of bringing positivity more than not a little more than what is happened recently

He’s playing through a foot injury. Brown saying that could mean he doesn’t wanna come off as making excuses, or could mean Fox is downplaying the injury to the coaches/medical staff. But watching him the explosion and burst isn’t there at the moment. Think he should sit out a few games or however long it takes for him to get right.

Fox injuring himself against Orlando does make sense if you look at his game logs. Coach Brown has cut Fox's minutes down to 29 mpg since that game

He'd do that anyways if he was playing bad

The entire thing is weird. Why is Brown saying nothing is affecting to him according to what he and the medical staff know? What type of injury affects play to such a degree that doesn't require someone to take time off or show up as anything extensive on MRI besides bruise? IMO even if he was being inconsistent, I think given the clamor around his play he might look for an excuse.

What was the injury in that Orlando game?

I hope this is true, but I also know he followed similar patterns in previous seasons with not only inconsistent games, but wide stretches (think those 9 game losing streaks he had a hand in). I'm being hopeful that this is actual a thing, but still reticent of Fox's innate inconsistent trait that has showed up to some degree in all his seasons in the league

Coach Jordi did an interview today on the situation. Basically, medical told the coaching staff Fox is hurt but they could play him as long as Fox can handle the pain. So, in those interviews you posted, Brown approached it as Fox " is a full-go", which he is/was, but the pain is getting worse, not better.

Now he's questionable for next game.

I don't think Brown approached it as something is bothering him, but he's a full go. To me in these conferences Brown doesn't believe anything is wrong with him at all. Seems to be representing the issue like that, for whatever reason.

Anyways, I hate to say I hope this is true that he is injured, but at least I hope there is a reason for the play. If its true than I think he should sit, IMO its not helping either party to play like he has the last 7

I feel it depends on how long this injury will take to heal. Are we talking one week in a walking boot or a month?

He’s been limping around during games. It’s safe to say he’s hurt.
