Game 35: Kings (15-19) vs Grizzlies (23-11)
Back at it against a Memphis team with a long injury report. Keegan remains out for Sac but Devin Carter makes his debut tonight.

First quarter has been a three point party and everyone is invited.

great play so far, but huerter needs to be gone (so does Keegan, but I'm trying to be positive)

Hes not even playing and you bring him up. Boogies enemy #1 Keegan murray. Who by all accounts is in all of our positive lineups. Once he starts hitting his 3 again you'll switch up!

No he won't. He is the opposite of a coach. A coach let's you out of his doghouse. Boogie. Not. So. Much.

Thought Doug should have put Carter back in with around 3.40 remaining in the 2nd. The D intensity definitely took a drop off. And any danger of actually defending the 3pt line?

The feeling has definitely changed. Stop with the show and get the job done. Still have fun, but do your work.

Ummm. Doug. And Guys. Throw all defensive "schemes" you have implemented and learned in the last couple of years. The NBA is a 3 point league. I know, shocker right? STAY CONNECTED.
And what a terrible call right there. NBA is a disgrace for things like this. Just making up things in thin air.

I've always thought this.
Grizzlies once again shouldn't be where they are, and are way worse on paper than even us

What a weird way to play a 3pt shooter and/or a 3pt shooting line-up. Can someone check what is going in the water at Golden 1

Re: Game 35: Kings (15-19) vs Grizzlies (23-11)
This is why Keon didn't play...
Malik has been inconsistent starting which has been a problem, but you usually start your best players and they have a chance to affect the game more and play more starting, along with Keon not having a pop game that suits the bench
Huerter has been soo bad, and Keon solid enough lately to mitigate the fact Keon's game isnt a bench one. but if it weren't for that plus/minus juxtaposition, Keon wouldnt play

Although whether or not he would be better starting over Keegan..

This take doesn't make sense to me when Monk has been doing this same thing the last couple years coming off the bench when he has always played big minutes and closed games anyway...
Keon is a good basketball player any way you slice it, I don't understand why you continuously refuse to acknowledge it.

Then a lot of teams would have some of their best players coming off the bench, just to have that "punch" off the bench
When you start, where the momentum of the game starts, you just have more input on the way its dictated IMO

Re: Game 35: Kings (15-19) vs Grizzlies (23-11)
Team looks like they are having fun again!
Huerters minutes continue to decrease
Keon minutes continue to increase
Devin finally healthy
Trey clearly finally healthy
Keegan hopefully back soon
A real coach in the building who figured out a real rotation finally.
I don't want to get too optimistic people but let's gooo!

Fit and context matter. Malik is our 4th best player but does so much of the same things that our star point guard does, and for as much as you criticize Fox for his efficiency, you do know Monk is less efficient than Fox? I would argue he makes our starting unit worse because his defense hurts us so if the offense isn't on fire like today we start the game giving up 40 point first quarters night in and night out. Monk has the prototypical and ideal sixth man skillset. He's exactly the "pop" off the bench you think Keon isn't.
+/- is a flawed stat to try and tell a complete story but when it consistently is so overwhelmingly positive, you have to look deeper into why that is. Go look at 5 man lineup data and check the top 5 lineups in terms of minutes played together. You will notice something about the lineups that are so far above and beyond the others in terms of Net Rating...
