Game 52: Kings (25-26) vs Pelicans (12-39)

Post#1 » by codydaze » Sat Feb 8, 2025 9:31 pm

This is the first matchup of three in six days against the Pelicans (very weird scheduling choices) and we could really use a win in all three of these matchups. Ingram was just traded and they are super banged up otherwise so hopefully these are games where the guys can start to gel and start to figure some things out.

New team’s play last game was much better. Taking the hottest team in the league to the wire on a b2b on the road. Hopefully we sustain that

Same problem we've always had with new orleans. Good luck guarding zion. Hope something changes offensively, right now it looks like an AAU squad out there. Smh

Maybe this will be the one that benches DDR for Keon

Wonder how long it's going to take for you to admit fox was important and it's time to blow up the roster.

This team is awful. Won't need to bench to tank, we aren't winning more than 10 games ros

There is no practice that can fix these issues.

I wish we could just cut lavine and derozan.

I think that would make us a better team. Start Keon and laravia

Well, never

If this team loses out and looks bad now and in the long term I might have to admit Zach and Monk or DDR or whoever weren’t the players I thought we needed, and we might still need change, but it wouldn’t change my thoughts on De’aaron

Keon needs to start, maybe a proven coach, maybe new players, and maybe Monk isn’t a PG as he looked (it will take time to get to that conclusion), but my stance on Fox being worth a standard max or contributing..

How do you defend this team? Sabonis getting beat at rim all night, when we help it's a wide open 3. I really wanna see keon × laravia × Keegan lineup to see how that works defensively

Keegan putting a great game together. We are a much better team when he gets involved offensively

The Keon steal to trailing Keegan dunk was my super bowl. Good things happen when Keon is on the floor and Keegan is involved in the offense.

Starting Keon for DeRozan and Malik getting his head out of his booty and we are cooking with gas with this bench (no Lyle’s)

Unfortunate LaRavia is likely a rental…

Hopefully we're able to get him on a 1+1 deal with an opt out year 2 for the maximum dollar we can give him and then extend him long term after that.

Demar to the bench for Keon to close the game...

This is my hope. He's got more to his game, but I'm impressed with the hustle and size. Still young and took a big leap year 3, could continue getting better with more minutes.

We finally have a 2nd sf when Keegan goes out. Feels weird

I’m tempted to reply trollishly reply to some posters what a worthless (lol) player we just traded to San Antonio, and the team has actually looked solid for a team just thrown together

But that would stoop to their non-chill level

Its annoying and embarrassing enough they were making threads about a team who literally had no practice in the t/t forum

You might want to follow the spurs if your just going to annoyingly deride the teams core as is

This team will take year(s) to assess, and since the Fox led team already widdled down the easy part of the teams schedule, and a coach who might(?) need replacement still isn’t playing the juggernaut lineup of monk/keon at the head which led in part to the moves made, we might not see immediate dividends

I mean, you might want to wait to make that same point you're trying to make. The team SA just lost by one possession to beat us by 20 and some of that was made up in garbage time too. If our team is going to take some time to assess, does the same not go for San Antonio who is even a much younger team?

Not trying to debate but we were all yelling for Fox/Keon to be the starters with Monk returning to a 6 man role but you were the one to push back against that...
